Converting to SIDE EXHAUST!?!??

For those of you who have converted to side exhaust, you have any suggestions on the setup to go with???? I bought the Autoform gen 2 style side exit exhaust sills....Should I go with a custom setup or find one thats already being produced??

I would caution you on this move. My '01 had side exit exhaust when I bought it (looked nice). The set up was low-buck at best. I had it switched out to rear exit within 2 months of purchase to get rid of the drone. If you are going to make the change spend the money and get a decent system. I have seen gen III corsa on a gen II. Something to think about.

Man, I agree with KCmille. I have a 99 RT with Corsa rear and sounds sweet. Buddy has a 93 with side pipes and sounds like a 5 cylinder Audi on each side and he complains of the noise. I had a AC cobra with side pipes and it was obnoxoius on long drives. Keep the pipes out back but do the Borla or Corsa for others to hear.

Custom could work, just use the biggest OD mufflers you can fit under the sills to give you max sound deadening. The bigger the difference between the core ID and the case OD, the more sound aborbing material you'll have, and the better chance you have of keeping the sound to a likeable level.

I used long DynoMax muffs on my '94 that were approx 6.75" diameter, and barely fit under the OE sills. That was maybe 8yrs ago, don't know if they're still available, or if they'd fit under your aftermarket sills.

Yellow, I agree.....Im using my car as a marketing tool for my resturant...Doing the whole autoform front fascia, hood, side exit gen 2 side sills, gtsr rs wing, paxton super charger, spec 3+ clutch and flywheel, hurst short shifter, custom meth injection setup, 19 fronts and 20's rear from Iforged, the ones with the big 5 inch lip....and a couple other things....So I want this thing to roar and be loud...I was thinking of just going with the Belanger setup and no cats....anybody heard that on a car?
