Racers: What Would You Pay? (Poll)
Assuming the sponsors cover the cost of the event, and all of the entry fees would go 100% to the payouts in each class, what would you be willing to pay to enter the event?
The classes will be:
Show and Shine (entry fees will bolster Unlimited purse)
Exhibition (entry fees will bolster Unlimited purse)
Stock Class
10.50 Class
9.20 Class
Unlimited
This year is going to be really different. This format could allow for some pretty substantial payouts. I know I would be willing to pony up a little more dough, but I don't want to speak for everyone.

Why not something like..
Stock Class - 25.00-50.00
10.50 Class - 50.00-75.00
9.20 Class - 75.00-100.00
Unlimited - 100.00-150.00
Need a 6 speed/IRS and true radial challenge!

Thanks for the input so far.
Booost,
This thread is simply to establish what guys are willing to pay to enter the event. Once we get closer to the event, we will be able to see how much response we are going to receive. As we get closer, if there seems to be a demand for it, we could make a small change here or there, but for now, this is a nice compromise class wise, without going overboard.
I definitely think that you have a point with stepping up the entry fee at least for the Unlimited guys. I guess with the money that goes into an unlimited car, the owners would be more willing to chip in a little extra above the stock guys, to make things interesting. Let's see how it goes.

Glad to hear you are in Lawrence. Guys like you are just the reason we are going to have the exhibition class. No competition, no heads up racing. You can just show up and make some passes.

Dave,
It's going to be in Bradenton Florida. It looks like it will be the weekend of Dec 8th-10th. That's not 100% set in stone yet, but almost. As soon as everything is a done deal, I am going to post all of the details. At this point, I am just trying to see what will work best for the group as a whole.

at least $100 seems very fair for the amount of track time we probably will be able to see. will they prep the track better if you pay them more?

They do an excellent job prepping the track. Are you guys going to try to make it down? I hope Jr. can attend. We will not need to pay them any more for the track prep.
I think we will also charge more at the gate as opposed to advanced entries. Hopefully, this will encourage guys to preregister.

I know that isn't the answer you are looking for Gary but it seems in line with what I think would work well. If you are looking for a flat rate, maybe 100 seems like it's in the ballpark. If I thought I was going to win, I'd want the entry to be higher so I could sucker more of everyone's money, but as it stands, I'd be afraid that someone from the VCA would have done enough research by reading the 1000 threads on hand placement during the all important 2-3 shift and show me their well zainoed taillights.

I like the idea of $100 and use only the Pilots for the street tire shootout(makes it even for everybody otherwise Kumhos are street tires too ). Also I think the classes need to be:
Exhibition (entry fees will bolster Unlimited purse)
Unlimited
8.90 Class
9.90 Class
11.00 Class
Stock Class
Better competition and with more times available

I think $100 is the best bet, especially since some guys are just going to show their cars and hang out.
I don't anticipate winning any money, but I'm good with $100 or higher. Its worth it to just hang out with everyone, and get some good passes or racing in on a great track.

Well, you could have a car show w/ aways (will Zaino sponsor) and have a different entry fee if you show-only. and spectators should also be charged for entry like any _other_ major event out there... gotta make the $$ back somewhere!
As for a 1-day or 2-day event: People who make the long drive will gravitate towards a 2-day event. I tend to agree. plus, if you blow your sh*t up on day 1, you can spend the night fixing it to be ready for day 2.
Just a few thoughts...

If they can pay for a TT why not charge the unlimited $500.00 to line up.
