Hagerty Insurance. Nice Scam if you can get it.

So I'm reading through insurance threads to find a good insurance company as farmers who insures our 8 cars. 1 each teenager, 2 mine, 2 wifes has decided that end of August they'd prefer not to insure a viper.

So I call this Hagerty Ins. After I tell them of our 8 cars, in the last 5 years I have 3 speed tickets in the 14 over range. They inform me Those are serious tickets and they're not interested. So 1/6th over the limit is serious!?

Fricken insurance companies will only carry people that pay in and never pay out or they couldn't build their friecken castles.

That's what I get for for just paying the damn tickets.

Hagerty insurance blow me and then blow me again.

We went with Geico. They had no problem with our 4 cars (Viper and Supra) We had a few infractions as well that were probably BAD too.
Give them a try.

Why would you just pay the tickets and not do traffic school to save your record?
Good luck finding another insurance company that wants someone with 3 tickets in a sports car.

Get State Farm, but here is the trick. Get Home owners and life first. Then when you have that for while add the cars. They will take you and youll get a multi line discount.

I have State Farm Home owners ins for my San Francisco Home, Alaska Home, my life ins, my wifes life ins, my truck and my caddy. When I added the viper as a 3rd vehicle for seasonal use only, it was diiiiirt cheap.

I have 1 ticket, and one accident in the last 3 years (ticket was a stop sign, and the accident was me on my motorcycle, no other vehicel involved).

State Farm has been excellent with claims, fair on price and the service is steller.

The reason I have just paid them is one was far away and would have been a pain to go to and they required idiot school for supervision which was also far away.

Being no tickets at the time I thought I'll just pay it. This then also precluded my other viper related bullshit cop ticket from being on supervision because now I was on one.

F me.

The other one was several years ago and once again I was to lazy to go to idiot school.

Wonder how many I'll get if I get the personal plate I just applied for:
DDMAU 50

Which could mean "go go quickly Mr policeman" or it could be more like in the deer hunter.

If your getting the ticket anyways no need to be polite.
Whats your hurry?
"Can I Have my ticket?"
Do you know what the speed limit is?
"Can I have my ticket?"
Said like he just saw a space ship destroy his family. 4 lane no traffic:
You where going 50 in a 40mph zone!!!?!?!?!??
"Can I have my ticket".
Do you know how fast you where going?
What I would like to say: "Looking at my speedometer while speeding wouldn't be safe". But What I will say in the future:
"Can I have my ticket please?"

Notice how polite I was on that last one.

21st century ins. They are the best PEROID. My friends who have listened to me, about them, have not only received better coverage, but a much lower price as well. Let me see if I can find their # .........1-800-211-SAVE.
I have several cars, and 2 vipers insured through them, and I have a variety of tickets 2 of which are 95 in 65. Good luck.

It ain't all about the rates, it's about who is going to pay out and take care of you fairly when shit hits the fan. Alot of these companies will give you good rates for now, then when you scratch up your Viper they'll low ball you or they won't cover replacement parts, they won't be fair in the valuation, then they'll jack your rates or drop your ass like a hot potatoe. Pay now or pay later. In the end they're gonna get more of your money than you're likely to ever see from them.

I don't know if you were refering to 21st century or not, but I've had them for 6 years now,and through 3 accidents (got rear ended twice, luckily not in the Viper, and my wife had one accident), and they've been awesome in every way.

Chubb is the shit! They typically insure your higher end homes and thus most will place their cars with them also.

You do save money with the multi line discount. However, while their homeowners and auto polices are great, their life insurance products are not very competitive, rate wise. I know, I sell insurance. Try just carrying their homeowners and auto only. You still get the multiline discount (life policies don't get the discount anyways) and you can save on the life stuff.

PM me if you want a quote.

My life is 15 bucks a month for 500K. When I added it the discount more than offset the 15 dollars added, so prior to adding it I was paying more with no supplemental (I have it at work) life ins.

Call your local SF agent, I jusr re-upped, so this info is accurate as of last month.

Hagerty actually has a very high reputation as collector car insurance companies go. They are a "specialty" insurance carrier, which means they write specialty cars that aren't meant for daily use. They typically charge very low premiums, far less than what a standard lines carrier like State Farm would charge. In return, the policy is fairly strict in what you can and can't do, and they're quite selective in who they insure.

Jeem, I don't know you personally, you may be the greatest driver out there. But from a business perspective, they're scared to write insurance for someone who has received speeding tickets and drives a very high horsepower car. In their viewpoint, that $300 they collect from you in premium for the year could cost them much more if an accident were to happen. They could pay out $100,000, $200,000, $500,000 or more for a bad accident. So sure, they're going to evaluate their risks and they likely won't take someone with a powerful car and marks on their driving record. It's just far too risky for them. There are many insurance companies that won't write Vipers no matter how good your record is. Same goes for Cobra replicas.

I agree with the other recommendations. Try State Farm, Allstate. Chubb has a great reputation too, but they're also fairly selective.

Steve

From what I know about underwriting, most companies SF, Allstate, ect won't write a NEW policy on someone who has had infractions in the last 3-5 years. But, that has been our/my experience.
So, we went with Geico because they didn't screw us that bad and they would take the cars and the driving records.

I added my Viper and GT to my State Farm homeowners coverage and premiums for both combined were only $1,800. I've had some tickets as well.

Compare this to some others with limited mileage for $4,600!!!

Did you try Grundy? They cover my Viper. And as stated above by the M's...Geico!

Before Grundy, I had Geico covering all my vehicles. Their rates are MUCH better than everyone else IF (and here's the trick) you have good credit. The better your credit, the better your rate - they feel that people with good credit make for more careful drivers.

Good luck.
