My 1st thought exactly HDaddy but the "autocheck" and the owner both are telling me that it didn't get wet and there was no damage. The major thing that is detering me from pulling the trigger on this one is the history:
03/22/2002 DALLAS, TX 10 miles Independent Emission Source PASSED EMISSION INSPECTION
03/30/2002 HURST, TX Motor Vehicle Dept. REGISTRATION EVENT/RENEWAL
04/26/2002 HURST, TX 46 miles Motor Vehicle Dept. TITLE (Title #:05752837363103647) (Lien Reported)
03/01/2003 HURST, TX Motor Vehicle Dept. REGISTRATION EVENT/RENEWAL
03/01/2004 HURST, TX Motor Vehicle Dept. REGISTRATION EVENT/RENEWAL
03/15/2004 GRAPEVINE, TX 21,274 miles Independent Emission Source PASSED EMISSION INSPECTION
03/01/2005 HURST, TX Motor Vehicle Dept. REGISTRATION EVENT/RENEWAL
04/20/2005 CLINTON TOWNSHIP, MI 26,227 miles Motor Vehicle Dept. TITLE (Title #:164S1100979)
05/05/2005 TX 26,227 miles Auto Auction REPORTED AT AUTO AUCTION
05/11/2005 TX 26,227 miles Auto Auction AUCTION ANNOUNCED AS FLEET/LEASE
06/24/2005 ABITA SPRINGS, LA 26,300 miles Motor Vehicle Dept. TITLE
REGISTRATION EVENT/RENEWAL Reported registered/titled prior to storm event in FEMA designated storm area. We recommend a professional vehicle inspection to confirm no storm damage.
I'm curious if the quick trip to Michigan and the "fleet/lease" thing is really a lease or if this vehicle was one of the "exotic rentals" that was/is available in the DFW area. Paranoid, maybe but I don't mind the 30K miles if the vehicle was coddled but if it was beat on by a bunch of "weekend warriors" I'd rather pass and hold out for a better example.
Is there a way to run the title numbers in TX and MI to determine EXACTLY who owned the vehicle??
Again, thanks for the input.
