Sorry to create a different thread, but here is the scenario.
OK, same money here, what do you do:
2002 FE with stoptechs, Sparcos, corsa, K&N, Smooths, eibachs, autoform roll bar and 10K
OR
1997 B/W with heads, cam, lifters, rockers, full exhaust header back, K&N, Smooths, and 12K
OR the cheapy of the group with higher mileage
1997 B/W with 34K no mods for 45
Knowing that I am going to mod the piss out of these cars, it appears that the cheapest of the bunch actually turns out to be the most expensive, and is also triple the mileage. HELP PLEASE
If you go with #1, you might just add some more breathing work.
#2 is a *really* attractive deal IMO and would probably run mid-low 11's. The first thing I would do with it is put some of the stuff from #1 on it. That would be a kickin' package.
This is just a toy for me to drive around on decent days. I do like to play though, and the norm for me has always been atleast 550-600 RWHP. Won't see any track use, but the bar is nice as are the brakes. I would want a BBK on one, full exhaust is a must, as is the typical K&N crap. The red and white car is probably the better buy of the group, and the unknown is the headwork on the blue and white car. Don't know how good the heads are, nor do we know what kind of power the car is making.
The deal fell through locally and totally through a wrench in my plans. Having to start from scratch.
Certainly must be frustrating, but it just means it wasn't the right one for you (damnit, I have become my parents). I have a feeling you will know exactly when the right car becomes available.
IF you plan on keeping the car for a long time(which probably won't happen ) I would say get the higher mileage one there since it is probably the cheapest and then build the snot out of it! If you are going to think about resale I'd get the lower mileage b/w
