VSS Sensor

Not sure if this is the correct forum. but need information

I don't have a service manual, but using a T56 out of a Viper. Need to know the Pulse per mile and what are the three wires on the connector are for.. (ground, pulse feed, postive, etc..?)

Thanks

bringing an old thread back to life......

Hi folks, I'm new here and I have the same question...found this thread using the search function.

I'm using a T56 out of a 1998 Viper and need to get an electronic speedometer hooked up. I See that the VSS has three wires and I am uncertain of the PPM that it produces.
Can anyone shed any light onto this subject for me?

On a 2000 GTS the BK/LB is to the Ground Sensor, the VT/WT is to 5V Supply and the WT/OR is the SPEED SENSOR Signal.

Pulse per mile....

There are 10 pulses per rotation of the output shaft/drive shaft. The 10 trigger points have a diameter of about 2" so I would say a shitload of ppm.

Hi there did some readings on this with a mate and his scope a while ago.

Got 7 hz per mph from the sensor (hz = pulses per second per mph) 60mph measured 414hz. Its a 5V square wave.
At 60mph it would work out 135120 driveshaft revs in an hour! Or as 1Tony1 says a "shitload" :-)
