I put it on the wheel well trim, since I run Kumhos front and rear. Without, it sand-blasts the paint. I'm thinking about putting the Pilot SPorts back on the front, it's so bad.
No real problem in these less visible areas - just take your time. Agree, for hood, etc., get a pro.

I did it on my wife's Lexus. I just have to stress don't DIY! It's a PITA. It will be expensive to have someone do it but the alternative is wrinkles all over the place.

I just got mine installed in L.A. area (actually Sherman Oaks) for $590 (a complete custom cut). I watched them do it...even for proffesionals (it took two guys to do it), the Gen I & II are a pain in the ass. It took them 4 hours, but with great results. Can you see it? Yes, ofcourse...if you look up close. You can see the seams (where the clear bra ends), and since 3M is slightly thicker (better protection), there is a slight "orange peel" texture on it.

But nothing too noticeable...definetly better than those leather/vinyl bras and ofcourse, much, much better than chipped/sandblasted front end.

If anyone is interested, PM me and I can get you the same deal. $590 covers all of the bumper, and hood up the the front of the hood "shark gills". All custom too (better than the pre-cut pattern because they cover more area and are closer to the Viper's parting lines, sometimes even going all the way around the part...(he wrapped the front end of the hood underneath too, this way you won't see the bra AND it covers the most vulnerable part of the hood...the leading edge)).

Agree, having put the stuff on my inside fender wells, along the bottom of the rocker panel, etc., I would not trust my meagre skills enough to put it somewhere more visible than those places!

I have 3M installed on the fascia, the hood up to the louvers, the side-view mirrors, and behind the rear wheel-wells...
