F%ck the police

Alrighty, its a beautiful night in south florida. I decide to take my baby(02 gts) to my buddies wedding. As i step into the car I say to my beautiful wife"Im going to behave all the way home so I don't have to deal with any fucking pigs" SO.................. this wonderful deputy pulls me over (he was traveling the opposite direction) cites me for 55in a 40. I was doing literally 46mph indicated. I have calibrated my speedo against a gps and its dead accurate. Do you think i have a chance in hell in traffic court? I am 100% POSITIVE I was doing 46-47mph. Yes, it was in a 40, but i would gladly pay the fine for 6 over. ITs not about the money. I am just a man of character, and i cannot stand when someone lies blatantly or abuses a position. I have never been arrested, dont do drugs and am a perfectly sane person. BUT.....................the next fuckin piece of shit cop that tries to pull me over is going to see a whole lot of tire smoke..............Im afraid i have pulled over for the LAST TIME. How do you all maintain respect for the police?? Anybody think a 29yr old in a shiny red viper has a chance in hell in court??
Sorry for the rant

Good luck. I've had an unfortunate experience with cops that had something to prove.

You sound like a wonderful person. You won't win in court, regardless if you were going 45 or 55 you are still breaking the law. I have never had problems with cops for the most part and I'm a really young guy so cops are looking for young people with sports cars.

its not a great idea, but its a matter of principle. I just would rather be put in jail for something I did do then cited for something i didn't. Funny thing is the whole night i didn't even spin the tires. BUt AFTER I got the ticket I was doing 70 in second gear with smoke pouring off the tires. I will never understand why fuckin pigs hate on guys with sports cars. Take your lazy donut eatin ass to work with me and swing a hammer and you can have one too................lol.................

Fight it. What the hell. So what if you lose. Win or lose if more people would go to court then they'd write less tickets.

Set it for a jury trial and they will most likely make you a better deal than take it to a jury.

i dont know how it is in FL but in cali if i get pulled over for speeding i always ask the cop to see the radar. they have to show you it if you ask. if you fight it you might want to question how he came up with the speed 55 that you were doing. There are classes cops can take to visually estimate your speed which most do not take. If he does go through all that BS and says he can tell the speed just by looking at something, then bring a ball and throw it and have someone radar it to see if the cop can guess it correctly. Well there are many ways to fight it, im 23 and have gotten pulled over a lot for things I didnt do. A lot of times I’ve won, others I ahvent only because when ever your in court the cop is always right unless you can substantially prove he was wrong. thats the hard part to prove, but it makes it easier if you really are innocent

Thanks for the laugh...

If you feel the need to fight the ticket - go to court...

Unless you got nailed via a gang-tackle (one shooter - several interceptors)...you may luck out with a no-show by the cop...

If he is in court...ask when the gun was last calibrated, and for the supporting documentation...

Odds are he will not have the documentation on-hand...

good-bye ticket...

whats funny?

and about asking when the gun was last calibrated. the judge wont care about documentation, they will take the cops word. its up to you if you want to push it farther.

Visual estimate of speed will not hold up in court...

The whole ball/radar scenario is really what gave me a chuckle...

You have eliminated any frame of reference and reduced the target by such a magnitude that the 'test' is meaningless...

RE documentation of calibration: If you request it, it must be provided...

I don't now what it is with cops lately. I got a ticket when I just turned 16 about 7 years ago for a 41 in a 30 and havent been pulled over since (until about 1 month ago).
I got a ticket by a cop in downtown for making a U-turn at 12:30 in the morning on a deserted street, there goes 142 bucks
Was in a pack of vipers out on a country road that is barely ever patroled. Cop was in a driveway talking to someone (never saw him). Im guessing we went by at around 62 or so in a 55. We get to a stop sign and all put the hammer down to 120 or so and keep on going at 60 for awhile, Cop catches up to us several miles later swerves at the lead car and parks the squad car in the oncoming lane just behind the rise of a hill (very intelligent risking the lives of oncoming motorists). Asked us how 3 cars just vanish by the time he got in his car, and that he was going 90 to catch us (also very smart on his part). I end up in the back of the car since i didnt have my wallet or license with. Bottom line, he didnt have shit, no radar, lost sight of us, and ended up letting us go thank god.
Two days later I get pulled over at 2 in the morning when i pull into a mall parking lot to call and ask for directions. Cop follows me in and puts on the lights. Ended up being someone I worked with a long time ago and of course let me go, but left me thinking what the hell he pulled me over for. Was a good feeling though since I didnt have a drop to drink and even had my front plate bracket on (thanks jon B).
A couple days later Im driving my everyday car with a girlfriend following me on a road very close to my house. Cop follows behind her and pulls her over and says she was going 48 in a 40. No fucking way were either of us were going that fast. I think a lot of times they just pull a number out of their ass to pull ya over and see if youve been drinking. Now i know why the cops never caught the POS that did a hit and run on me at 215 in the morning on St. Pattys night after work, their too busy pulling me over. Fucking Pigs

AND...

You were doing it without any form of ID...

Agreed...you were profiled...

Between the hours of midnight and 4AM approx. 85% of the drivers on the road are 'legally' impaired (.08 BAC)...

There was no reason (according to the facts given) for the officer to approach you...

Really nothing to say here...not enough facts...

During the 'witching hours'...yes, I would agree with you to a certain extent...

It sucks about the hit-and-run you suffered, but 75% of the time (discounting your last episode - lack of facts) you were pulled over, you were breaking the law...

Quit your fucking whining...

And if you hate the 'pigs' so much...make sure not to call them for assistance when you are in dire need - you obviously feel that you don't need their help...

Grow the fuck up...
