To clarify for you WE DID go to the track before the race and we were constantly improving and making changes.
The way I looked at it was that the test and tune in Memphis was the first time that we were able to test after making all our final adjustments. I didn't clarify that for you.
We busted our ass thrashing and testing getting ready for this race.
It wouldn't have mattered if we would have been able to test again at our home track or at Memphis. If it would have broke at our home track we wouldn't have had the time to fix it anyway.
For the record your 7.99 was a gift from SVS. Last minute rushing to get you SVS carbon fiber parts for the race in Bradenton and eliminating 100+lbs off your Viper was very generous of me. SVS contributed greatly to help you squeeeeeze out .01 for the first 7 in a Viper.
Shame on YOU for never giving SVS any recognition.
REAL RACERS always acknowledge those who help them in their success.
Haha, for shame, for shame.
You said you "didn't test" so I took that to mean you "didn't test." So what did you run in testing? What did you run in the first two runs in Memphis?
Don't forget to answer these q's on your response.
SVS carbon definitely helped our efforts. I did mention your parts way back after the occassion. You giving me a 7 might be just a bit of a stretch but so is you going to a drag race.

Ziiiiing.
Testing here, on our lowest boost setting messed up pass was a 1.8 60ft - 9.1 @ 155 letting out of it early. We made alot of changes after this.
In Memphis neither of the passes were clean.
I had alot more to work on than just sitting at the line and having all day to spool up the turbos to run a number. Like you said this was a Real Race and before this event I needed to improve my overall Drag Racing ability. I worked very hard on my R/T for heads up racing and making sure that I didn't loose to the HOLE SHOT. I didn't make full passes. It was also tricky getting the Water injection correctly set up to run with 93. We didn't get that completely worked out until later in our time frame. We ran out of time to test here and like I said it would have broke here or in Memphis.
When we started in performance motorsports we learned in road racing first and then landspeed racing. After gaining experience, knowledge and becoming successful in both road racing and landspeed racing we're now doing the same and gaining our knowledge and experience in drag racing.
We're very close to getting big power down the 1/4 mile
Thanks for recognizing SVS carbon parts. I never saw where you acknowledged SVS when you got the 7.99? Maybe I missed it? If you did please show me.

And don't forget the sun was in your eyes, the track went uphill and there was a stiff headwind. I'm sure you had to try hard to keep that super whizbang racecar out of the 8's. I mean it probably weighed seventeen thousand pounds, right?
My car ran 8.9 on radials, pump gas and wastegate springs. Only water injection employed was Jason's squeeze-bottle. Just think how good you would have to tree me. Better keep practicing.
To whoever asked earlier, I asked Heffner what he ran for mph today and he said 166 in the race.

Judging from the video Jr. got scared when the car lifted the front end, let off and unloaded the suspension. That would have been a good run if Jr. would have stayed in it.
I'm really sorry to hear of your unfortunate driveline failure. The car sounded great and I have no doubt that you would have made a great showing. I'm sure that you weren't the only one to break either. Better luck next time.

The data shows that I stayed in the throttle and didn't lift. When the car came down it did briefly touch the fenders and that possibly may have helped blow the tires off. We need a slight adjustment on the height in the rear also. We were on a soft setting for the rebound in the rear for a starting point. We stiffened it up for the next run.
Jr. didn't get scared
I've been looking forward to getting a hard launch for a long time and hopefully riding a wheelie as far as I can without losing any time. I would surely enjoy helping test or race ANYONES Vipers or any car at the drag strip. I've never been as hyped up and excited at a race as I was for the few short runs in Memphis.
