As title says, any venders or members here have a complete set for my '96 GTS. I have aftermarket stock sized Forgeline rims to put them on and need them within a couple weeks. The closest distributors and even online stores (tirerack) show them as backordered for a few weeks.
Someone posted a few months back that they were being discontinued. I ordered the next to the last set of 17" rears that TireRack had. Now I see they don't seem to have the fronts, and I wish I'd got the full set.
No telling if they're even going to make them anymore. Wish I knew.
I have a set of 18's on order since March with tirerack. I have heard also they are discontinued. If so I will have to try the Toyo RA1 which I heard is as good or better. Does anyone have any experience with the Toyo or what would be a good replacement tire for the Kumho?
Discontinued!?!...
Shit, I should have bought a full set a few months ago...but leave it to a typical American to procrastinate once I decided to go with the V700's. You guys know of anything else that is grippy, but still streetable in the 17" sizes because aren't the Toyos for 18's? I wanted to get the Kumhos for roadcourse and street and then get some CCWs and slicks for the strip.
I've got a like new set of Pilot Sports for the front, and will probably just run the last pair of V700s on the rear, when the current set need replacing. Oddly enough, the fronts are wearing worse than the rears! You really don't need the Kumhos on the front for street (legal) stuff. Even the occasional burst, no problem. As far as something to replace them with, have you considered the V700 Victoracer? They may be only available in 18 inch sizes - not sure. There's also the Michelin Pilot Cups maybe, but not sure if they're streetable.
The thing about the V700 Ecsta that was good was they had a little bit of rain grooving. Still, I must say, having gotten caught in rain with them, they really blow on wet roads. Very unsafe in my opinion. You have to baby it or the rear constantly kicks out, they also hydroplane like mad.
I just don't drive in rain if at all possible.
I think for the price I will be trying the A3s05 on all 4 corners. My GTS is mainly used for open track events but I wanted something more streetable but for the price of the Hoosiers, I will throw back on my old Michelins for the street.

The A3's don't look like there is ANY tread. Is that just a file photo? Does anybody have a picture of the tread? I thought the R3's would be stickier, no?
