Shiiiit. Salty, you still working on your "We really wanted to go but couldn't due to....." speech? I thought there was a good chance we would have heard it this weekend. Not much left but death and blown motor (last resort stuff there). Don't pull the "stolen truck" gag because someone will offer their assistance.

SVS has a full plate on this event. Even if they are making more power than anyone else there, which is a good chance that they will, it will be a lot harder to run a lower ET this year due to the bracket style racing. It is not whoever is faster this year, it is who can cut a better light and win that race that gets to advance- more of a Pump Gas DRAG than a fastest Pump gas CAR like it was last year.
This will definatly be a tough race to win this year. I think they have the power and potential but have to get all their ducks in a row to make it happen.
I think getting there and running the day before and putting down some solids numbers would work to their advantage a couple of ways. First it would show people what the car is capable of and possible pressure their cometitor to try and cut a perfect light and possible redlight. If it gets one car to redlight it was worth it.

its a no win deal for SVS - if they go and dont do better than Heffner did last year (low ET of 8.4 and 3rd overall i think) then what's their upside?
At least they are going out there with a competative car and trying their hand at it. Which is more than be said for everyother viper owner out there except Chad.
I only saw one lone Viper entered this year. If I had known for sure my car would be done I would have entered as well. Knowing that I had no chance in hell of placing any lower than 15th does that mean that it is a no win deal for me as well?
There are some rumors of cars having gone 7's in testing (but who knows). SVS should have plenty of power. they were going mid low 8's at mid 170's before with the 2 speed (granted surely on race gas). Now they have a new engine setup that seems deftly more efficient. If they can post 170+mph traps on pump that would be very nice. Deffinately need to get some weight out of that car though. Also remember, as I'm sure heff can atest too, they will be running against cars whose sole purpose is to run in this event (so they are pure drag cars with suspension just to drag with, and barely survive a short drive beforehand).
All in all, good luck boys.........

Heffner didn't race heads up at the PGD's last year.
He sat at the light last year with all the time in the world to focus on the launch.
If we could sit at the line and take all the time we wanted to spool the turbos up and focus on just going for a number than we would be competing the same way Heffner did last year. This year the rules make it much more difficult to focus on getting a better number.
This year it's about competition in racing heads up with a .400 Pro Tree.
Jason already mentioned he made a few mistakes last year and this year it will be much harder at the line than it was last year.
There's alot on my plate with our shop being full and trying to balance all things while getting ready to jump in the octagon with the pit bulls in Memphis
Thanks for the TRUE encouragement during a time that I can really use it
I have way too much to focus on and won't have time to post anymore until after the PGD's.
I will do well and support like yours is what backs me up
It was crazy to see how many cars never made it to the track last year. Some broke down, some overheated, and some just ran out of gas. That should remove about a third of the competition. I'll be there and will keep everybody up to date with reports from the track.
Remember, start in the correct gear and make sure the boost is on.
