I wish I could just pull the stereo out of my car as no one will ever listen to it while driving that beast but fear racecar retribution. This is a tough crowd judging racecar/street car but the 4 above seem like givens.

The SVS TTRS has NO intercooler in the passenger seat.
We have a full cage, you have a full cage. swing out door bars are for girls or fat asses who can't get into the car.
We don't have air conditioning.
We do have registration.
We meet more than required Thanks Chad we're officially a street car
Actually the new LeMans regualtions are going to mandate that all closed cockpit cars are to have air conditioning.
A race car to me is a car that is used in some form of comptetion(except street racing) whether it's
drag racing
road racing
circle track
some sort of series that involves other cars and there is winning or loosing involved even if the only prize is bragging rights
then there is the gray area degree of preparation i've seen some track day and auto cross cars that have very high levels of set up some remain titled as street cars and some dont. Almost every car can fit into some racing catagory even if it will not be competitive in that class.
So my bottom line is the car used in a competitive manner where winning or loosing is involved.
we as viper owners all have race cars. should not be catagorized as race car only just because you enter in events.
damn jr. you calling me a girl and a fat ass because of my swing outs?
No.
You could get in your Viper with no problem if you had a full cage w/ top bar X braced and not a swing out. You don't have to have them.
You decided on the swing outs to keep the perception of having a street car. I agree that it makes it easier to get in the car and when you're judged by the counsel of what is a street car and what is a race car then you'll pass as a street car.
I believe it's better to have safer side impact bars for racing.
That's my opinion and why I think that a swing out is for a girl, heavier person or someone who wants to be considered having more of a street car.
If you keep going out and eating with Sr. then I might have to lower the swing outs for you

I think the bottom line here is that everybody has their own notion what a street car is.
I think any car that has a roll cage, mark williams rear end, twin turbos, monster intercooler(s), notched frame to fit the big tires and above all, and gets trailered to the race all the time is a RACE CAR.
So what, BFD.
I have to agree with Jr that swing out doors are for sissies and fat asses or people with limited flexibility!
==> That's what makes me nominate TOOFST for jewish whiteboy howdy doody sumo wrestler of the year to get his ass into my car with the roll cage! It's been a couple of years since he has squeezed in.
I think we can make big bucks selling the DVD of him trying to get in in the very near future!

I'm 6'-1", 185 pounds and faster than all you whiney bitches.
So, I'm not F A T, I'm just F A S T.
Salty, the intercooler comment was not about you, you conceited little whore.
That is excellent input from Professor Paolo:
A car with a cage is a racecar.
A car with a rear end from Mark Williams is a racecar.
My favorite, a car with twin turbos is a racecar.
A car with a big intercooler is a racecar.
A car with big tires is a racecar.
A car that gets trailered to a race is a racecar.
Those are excellent guidelines. Thanks for the enlightenment.

who gives a crap what everyone thinks - build what YOU want. It will be what YOU think it is to you... what others think will never bring concensus
You could make a 6 second car street, handle rush hour, go shopping in it, run air.... but it would be a jungle jim of cage inside.
my subjective view on it FWIW - if a car can't handle rushhour or be driven interstate because the valve springs can't take it - it's not street - even with tags... street should mean you can actually drive it whenever you want weather permitting.
If its a 6speed and has a clutch that you have to hold your leg down............even if it has AC or all the other above, I'd say race car. Same if you have an auto tranny and have to pull over every 50 miles to let your transmission cool down
Everyone's perception is going to be different however I would say I agree with what Chad said
