Tony, this is all that i found on the major rule updates for 2006 that mentioned anything about this speed or ET..........
E.T. brackets
Any vehicle that runs faster than 135 mph must meet minimum requirements for 9.99-second vehicles, which include an NHRA chassis certification, NHRA competition license, and updated safety requirements.
The Protective Clothing section states which jacket and/or pants are needed for 10.00 and slower and 9.99 and quicker supercharged, turbocharged, or nitrous-equipped cars, with or without a full OEM or .024-inch steel firewall.
As i said, this was in an article about the MAJOR updates for 2006, not necessarily all the updates.....but i Hope that this isn't so because of the number of true street cars out there running this fast or faster. But then again, how many NHRA sactioned events does the average joe run in?? My guess would be not many. Most would run in "specialty" events like the V10 Nats, weekly test and tunes, events Heffner puts on, Supra/Viper meets...etc.
But then again, this is just my opinion, and we all know that they are like assholes, and everybody has one..
Hope this helps.
Ken
