Hopefully in the next couple of years I will be able to buy an old POS Gen 1 and make it a dedicated drag car. If this is not your plan, I would stay away from a salvage title'd viper.
Thanks Guys... I am just looking around and if something doesn't make sense, I bring it upon the forum..
With a salvaged title, how would the registration go? How would the insurance company take it? Would it amount to be cheaper in terms of a clean title?
I have owned several salvage vipers and I think that is the only way to buy one. The best thing to do is look at some before pics and have a qualified mech look over the car. You should save some good money with a salvage but only worth while when it has been repaired properly. When done right you will not be able to tell by looking or driving the car.

I aqree 100% with that. I have fixed a couple and its a real fine line sometimes between salvage and fixable. Unfortinatuly you will never get retail for a branded title car no matter how good it was fixed. Typically I shoot for wholesale value with a branded title. If the car checks out I think its worth $38-$42K but remember it will depreciate quicker than an clean title car. Some banks will not finiance (not unless you are paying a substancial amount down) Insurance should not be a problem as look as the car has a title and not a salvage certificate. Also note that branded titles are not tranferrable to many states. If you buy the car in PA and move to NY, the NY DMV will not let you title unless you go thur thier salvage inspection (even though you have a PA title!)
