Thinking the RT needs some company, and although only a short time owner of my RT...was thinking about getting either a Gen II GTS or the new 2006 coupe.
I looked at the coupe last weekend, it is awesome...but for some reason the lines on the GenII just seem so much more pronounced, and "classic muscle" look.
I definately prefer the looks of the Gen II, but the interior/power and handling of the new coupe are tempting....
GTS looks better. New coupe performs better. You can easily (but not cheaply) increase the performance of the GTS. But there is not much you can do to help the new coupe look better.
I could see reasons for purchasing either, but one BIG advantage the GEN II has is 'lack of depreciation'. Buy a GEN II GTS, and in you're bascially out nothing when you sell (or very little). You're out a lot on a new Gen III.
The biggest advantage for the new GEN III is the warranty.
I haven't driven the Gen III coupe yet, but I own a Gen II Gts blue with white stripes, and I can tell from expierence, that it is one sweetest rides ever. I also own a Gen I RT/10 and it will always hold a special place in my heart, but nothing, I mean nothing compares to a Gen II GTS. Read any of the posts on this web site and it is pretty unanmious that the Gen II is the favorite. They made the new coupe to look like the Gen II and that should tell you something. They are both great cars, but at the end of the day I want a Gen II sitting in my Garage!!!

If you want a Gen III, know that the prices are dropping like a rock. Get yourself into a nice Gen II, enjoy it, and then sell it without losing your shirt. Take that money and get a Gen III which will be much cheaper by then.
Both are such great cars. The GTS is so mean looking. I think that is has the best curves of any car produced. The coupe is also incredible. You really can't lose either way. I haven't taken many pictures of the coupe yet, but I really do like the way that it turned out.
Yeah Tucker, your car looked amazing at the track. Really like the wheel, color combo you got going on
Thanks a bunch. I ordered a yellow coupe, then I heard that a couple of friends of mine were talking about doing yellow, so I bought red, but I had already had the wheels built. I wasn't sure about black on red, but I really like the way it turned out. David and Cody are doing the Paxton kit on it next week and raising the rear up just a little. Should be fun when it is all done.
