Calling out "THE CHAD" 2 Texas!! The 3rd fastest 6 speed and falling!
This needs to be settled in Texas once and for all. The first time they were going to race was at the Norwalk race where Chad posted he would be "bringing the pain". But he never showed. The second time they were going to race was in Florida. Chad decided to bring the auto. As we all know it was just a back down to race Roofs 6 speed. Then he stated to me that they were going to put the 6 speed in for Sunday to race us but again didn't happen. Smart move I guess?? I think it is because they could not get Chad's Viper any faster then the 8.75 when Tony took it out to practice in it. Keep in mind this is AFTER the bigger turbo's, custom intake, bigger tires and who knows what else!! It will still be a good race even though Roofs 6 speed car is over 6 mph faster and just 2 tenths quicker!
PS. not trying to flame here but this race should happen. We have two weeks left. Chad if you didn't hurt you Viper at the last race then throw the 6 speed in it and get it to Texas and stop making excuses why you cant go. Let see you back all that talk up for once.

Well there's no way Chad is gonna back down from this internet insult, he has too much pride. You have awakened the sleeping giant with this call out. Come on Chad, put this hillbilly in his place once and for all. Go big Chad!!!!!!!!!
How many $300,000 vipers does it take to have "something to do"? I think one is enough...
You are correct, however the project went dormant after the car crashed in Florida. This will breath new life into the Viper drag race scene and Heffner's bank account. It's a win, win. Chad now is motivated again!
I don't drive the car anymore so I have really lost interest. My last goal was to run a seven and did it, even though I was no longer driving.
Talk about let down. Can you imagine if I showed up to race 6-speeds and that yellow hunk of shit you built never made it an inch off the line, both days! Now that would have been a let down. Who would have though Mark Williams would have made a pinion yoke. Uh....me.
Instead, we showed up and ran a SEVEN. The final frontier. There is nothing left. Who gives a shit about an eighty now? About as many people that gave a shit when your incorrect timeslip popped up at the end of the track a couple months ago.
Somebody will always be faster but only one can ever be first.
Firsts:
V-10 Viper in the 7’s
IRS street car in the 7’s – any make
V-10 Viper in the 160’s
V-10 Viper in the 170’s
6-speed Viper in the 8’s
Turbo only Viper in the 8’s
Drag radial Viper in the 8’s
Pump gas Viper in the 8’s
Just be glad the lights malfunctioned and you got that bogus piece of paper saying you are faster. Take that timeslip to your buddies at Proline and ask them to explain those numbers. They can't.
But the deal is, I don't really care. I ran 8.75 in my own car while the big guns were running 9.4's. There might even be a little left in it, what with the 500 additional hp, suspension, tires, etc since then. That is what I am proud of and grateful to Heffner for thinking as big as I did. Heffner paved the way for you go fast by showing you how to do it. For that you should be grateful.
Have fun in TX, driving Garth's car. And good luck running a 50 cause Ryan will.
But most of all, thanks for ALWAYS thinking of me. XOXO

I didn't think about it on said day but came to realize after the fact, so I will
clarify this for you:
1. Say all that's true...."bigger turbo's, custom intake, bigger tires and who knows what else"
2. A brand new driver that had never been that quick/fast......running with lower boost because he had never set in that seat before.
3. Only three hours to test = 6 passes of which only 2 (maybe 3) were full quarter mile passes.
So what I came to realize based on all the above: was that I/WE came very close to beating the (then current) record with a new set up, new driver, in one very limited testing session. That was not bad...no matter what you say. All that said......anybody that doesn't believe there is more left knows very little about this game.

The truth be told, the guy I really impressed with is Tony Armour. How many of these other records were set in actual competition against a car in the other lane? Traction control is for sissies. Tony goes out there in his K-Mart blower sans traction control and consistently puts numbers down IN COMPETITION that cars with tens of thousands more in mods can only dream about. Tony is the real king shit racer in the Viper world and Cudaman ain't far behind. Kevin does build real nice shit and can drive but the unlimited division to date has been discombobulated.

I don't talk much about testing as we let our racing do the talking. But to give credit where it is due, Tony did one hell of a job jumping in a fast car and rowing the gears in MD. He ran a 8.77 on his fifth pass which was actually the second full pass. Heffner has always done a great job getting the car fast right out of the box as well as drivable. In MD, that meant not putting the car on kill with a brand new driver.
He makes the cars so the driver has a good chance to perform. Hell, he had me running 9.0 on my second pass and 8.88 on my 5th. Watch a Heffner car go down the track and then watch a typical 10 second car even. A properly setup car makes all the difference.
I don't drive the car anymore so I have really lost interest. My last goal was to run a seven and did it, even though I was no longer driving.

There you go again thinking..... first of all we broke the pinion gear not the yoke you DORK! Why do you keep saying heffner was the first/? The first for what?? Not to run in the 8's!! What in a 6 speed?? woppie.. I was the first to run 170's in a six speed and so on... yada yada. Cant explain what on a time slip??? Did you not notice that I babied that car to run that 8.55?? granny shifting and etc. GET A CLUE,,, Its called a shit load of HP and boost level elevated in 4th.
PS. I knew you would come on here and make excuses or change the subject. Just go get your car from Heffners and bring it to Texas and race it or get you a driver to drive it for you.
Also you better jump on the Supra bandwagon since you cant come do it yourself!!
