Well if you have a high hp application, say some crazy twin turbo setup. The freer flowing exhaust with no restrictions the more performance advtanges there are
well, all I know is, I removed the cats and I am getting upwards of 75 horse from that single modification.

OK, perhaps not. But I did feel a bit of a difference without the cats as well as the fact that I do not burn the crap out of my leg.
I removed the cats and then when emissions rolls around, put them back on. I had to weld a lip back onto the cats, because you have to literally cut them out. But after that, it only takes about 20 to 30 minutes to swap them out.
Hostile, when do you emissions test once a year or once every 2 years. For me its once every year, So Im comtiplateing whether it's worth doing what your doing or not. Maybe slip the emissions guy a few extra Jacksons for his troubles.
Here in Idaho we do emissions test once a year. They plug into the OBDII port. Scan for codes, short and long term fuel adaptives, ect. Mine has passed two years now. ROE S/C ,Water/Meth,no cats and no sims. 99 GTS.
Actually, that reminds me. I was speaking with my mechanic and he said that plenty of viper owners get emissions done without cats. He said that they get alchohol from the raceway and mix that into the fuel to burn cleaner.
Apparently he even does it with his turbo'ed T/A. And I think that I am going to give that a whirl this year. You can get one retest up to 30 days later if you do not pass the first time.
here in utah, they dont plug into the OBDII port, they do how ever stick a prob up the tailpipe and run the test that way. If Utah did the testing like Idaho I would be in fat city. Or even if Utah did it every 2 years I would do what Hostile does and remove my cats, then when testing comes around put them back on.
