Gen1 Or Gen2?
I Know I Will Get Hazed. Call Me A Fucking Newbie. Whatever.
I Have Read So Many Different Things Online, Where It Shows, A 96' Is A Gen1 And Then I Read, A 96' Is A Gen2.
Can Someone Help Clarify This For Me.
Thanks.
P.s. Let The Hazing Begin!

96 was the first year for the GTS - which introduced the GEN- 2 motor.
The 96 RT was the last year for the GEN-1 motor.

96 RT had upgraded suspension, rear exhaust, increased power over past Gen-I's, & smooth hood.

You are a Gen 1.5 and a very unique year. Along with what everybody else said, adding brakes are Gen II and your exhaust system(stock) only has one muffler set in the side sills. All other Gen II's had two(rear muffler too).

96 RT/10's are the best... the Black/Silver are particularly valuable.... somewhere in the high $70K range.. at a minimum.

A '96 is a gen I. It included the suspension upgrades for Gen II but everythimg else is Gen I. The body, interior, powertrain (engine and trans). It was also built at CAAP rather than Mack Ave, where all previous Gen I's were built.

Yeah... and no heavy-ass airbag systems with that big lumpy steering wheel!! Hmmmm... and no gadgets ready to break down like fancy-pants rollup windows..... I don't need no stinkin' roll up windows!!
