half shaft

Hello,
I just bought a pair of drag radial Hoosier 335 30 17 and I would like to know if my stock half shaft will be strong enough...the car is a venom 600 but we do not have yours "drag tracks quality" in France....

I think it depends on how hard you launch. Some folks seem to do well with stock shafts and some folks get stronger ones. From what I've heard the stock shafts are easy and cheap to replace so it might not be a bad thing to keep them the weakest link.

Regardless of what you decide, it wouldn't hurt to have a spare set of shafts around though.

Your stock half shafts should be fine given your horsepower level. I have also been told that launching on drag radials is actually easier on your half shafts since the suspension will not wheel hop as much.

To use your drag radials properly you need to do a smokey burnout. This will make the tires stickey, if they hook well, you will break stock halfshafts.

i have a set of unitrax heavy duty halfshafts that i am not using if your looking to upgrade to a stronger unit.
