ALMS Viper pics

Found these on my HD and thought I would share, if it's a repost too bad.

Hard to tell if the viper started in front of the prototype or not, if he did I'd imagine he had to change fire suits at the next pit stop.

Looks to me like the GTP car was behind the Viper when it took off. Maybe it got too close to the Viper and picked up the Viper's draft.

They fought the aero all week. Blew one over in practice, then put a ton of aero bandaids on the other two cars for the race and blew another over. Finally had to pull the 3rd car. I believe that was the end of Merc campaigning their own cars. Very embarrassing.

yeah Chad you are right...they were having problems throughout practice and qualifying....tried to fix it, and many in the Benzcamp wanted to scrub the race and not go....but i believe it was pretty much decided that so much money had been spent they needed to race....well it was the last time Benz supported Lemans from the factory because of the embarrassment...
