Re: Quickest 6-Speed Street Supra vs. Quickest 6-Speed Street Viper Timesli
I was being nice, not real nice, but nice.
I know you think of us as the seven second team and yourselves as the eight second team but to be fair, with the six-speed we are really just and eight second team too.
Re: Quickest 6-Speed Street Supra vs. Quickest 6-Speed Street Viper Timesli
I believe this is a difficult comparison as we are talking about two completely different type of platforms.
Owning both cars, in my opinion the Supra is an extremely well engineered car! Especially considering this car was developed back in the early 90's and yet still able to compete with cars produced today. Refinement and the overall reliability of the Supra cannot even be compared to the Viper. The Supra will take one hell of beating in all respects with factory components. The only major con with the Supra is the requirement for race gas when going for very high horsepower applications. Pump gas power ability goes to the Viper, hands down.
As for the powerband debate, the Supra motor will cruise at 5000rpm and you really won't even begin to think the motor is even remotely straining. You just have to change your driving habits to adapt to the powerband.

After having the experience of drving Jon's CPE TT viper at a VERY low boost level and comparing to my single turbo sc3 and my old singled supra, it's a different ANIMAL!! Getting into Jon's car at the track and busting a few passes I fell in love. The powerband on a TT viper is absolutely crazy, despite the lower redline, it's pretty relative when comparing time in true powerband.
Let's not forget you guys can make INSANE power on 93octane (and I hate you for that )
The one thing I would agree on is the comfort, aside from that, I would dump my SC for a viper/tt in a heartbeat!
