Would it be possible to have someone local pickup any of the parts rather than ship them? Not that I don't trust you will ship them, but yeah I kinda don't.
too funny. i was just curious to know why john only does private auctions. i see plenty of things i would love to buy on ebay from him but stories you here plus the unknown privacy factor make dropping a few grand in the mail with uncertainty a negative.
keep in mind john, i am not making any allegations towards you its just the facts. i did bid a stupid amount on some rims you had been selling on ebay figuring what the hell, but when the numbers got higher i backed out because you never know if your bidding against yourself or a viable person also interested. picking shit up from john for me is no option, unless its a car. john has never done wrong by me, and he has recently talked over some things with me and sounds quite nice.
I have heard all the same stuff too, especially that he only takes care of you if you live in texas. I live in Toronto and took a chance, I sent him a good chunk of change before my rims/tires were even delivered. Everything worked out, he went out of his way to make sure I was happy. It may be only one experience, but it's the only one I have had, and I would buy from John again.

PAYPAL WORKS REALLY WELL AS IT HELPS PROTECT THE BUYER. I AM HAPPY WITH PAYPAL. AND IM HAPPY IF SOMEBODY WANTS TO COME BY THE SHOP AND SEE THE PARTS IN PERSON BEFORE PAYING.

I don't live in TX either, but I would rather persuade one of the TX locals to pick stuff up and ship it to me than deal directly. You'd be surprised what can happen when you mention a bottle of crown reserve to those TX folks.
I feel ya on the private auction part, that and I don't even want to know how many ebay names HMS has had over the years, so it leaves me a bit leary.
Well i just purchased a pair of 7R'sfrom John off Ebay. My Paypal E-Check should clear by 12/30/2005, I will let everyone know when i receive the wheels!
I got the set of 6r's. I live locally in Texas (if there is such a thing)....lol
John was quick to contact me and I'm sure he'll be quick to provide me with tracking #'s when available. I'll let you all know how it turns out, but I'm not worried in the least.
