It is hard to tell which one they are saying is first in domestic vehicles.

Lease guide forecasts high residual value for Solstice

Arlena Sawyers
AN / December 12, 2005

The Pontiac Solstice will keep its value better than any other new 2006 domestic-brand vehicle, Automotive Lease Guide predicts.

The guide, which sets residual value standards for the industry, predicts the Solstice will hold 54.0 percent of its sticker price after three years. The roadster has a base price of $19,995, including shipping.

Among domestic vehicles, the Solstice is second only to the 2006 Dodge Viper.

Yeah, it is confusing or at least contradictory...I deleted my post once I re-read it. Still kind of depressing that 54% residual value after only 3 years.

It probably also has the highest initial purchase price of any domestic vehicle. So does the high resale come as any suprise?

It's kind of like that useless defensive driving statistic that says 90% of all accidents occur within 5 miles of home. Duhh. 90% of most people's driving is done within 5 miles of home.

I think it's a little early to be speculating on the resale of the Solstice. The cars only been out for 2 months.
