I don't know John personally. His car is very quick. I saw it run at Bradenton. However, speaking from experience with these cars I do not believe that 600 hp on 6.5 of boost is obtainable unless there are [color:red] [/color] additional modifications.
I agree with V10TT. You would need close to 800 rwhp to run 143 mph. This would mean that John would have to spray more than a 70 shot to run that mph. I am estimating that he would need a 200 shot to the tires to run that mph. Of course, this is assuming that he puts down 600 rwhp on 6.5 lbs.
These are just my thoughts based on years of racing. I am not raising a BS flag on this one.
Torque plays into this too. I've been 147 on less than 750. My car has never made 800 and I have a bunch of passes 144 to 145. 143 on his pulley and nitrous is very believable.....more so if the "70" is hp based on the jet size and not at the tire. Somebody please tell me a stock motor/heads with rockers only can't go mid nines.......and then put some cash on it. We are not dealing with turbos here....just the pure power of a screw s/c and a little spray
Excellent driving for sure! Maybe there is something about the creampuffs? I took my '01 RT to 11.71 bone stock on Pilots. However, it was during cooler weather.
John, I've tried to change the caption of that video but it won't allow me to do so. Sorry, bud.
I think Tony summed it up best for all you losers that did not show up, thank you Tony. Oh, by the way Tony has been 9.55 @ 145ish on a stock forged piston motor. My car makes 896 RWTQ. Torque gets you down the race track. The Roe blower makes good torque, add nitrous and it makes great torque. With a 50 shot on a 5 lb pulley I picked up 100+ horsepower and 145 ftlbs of torque. If i used a 200 ahot of Nitrous these pistons would not hold together. I have a lot of passes with this set-up, last year I went 10.39 @ 139 mph on 5 lbs and a 50 shot. This year I went 10.08 at 143 mph with 6.5 lbs and a 70 shot. The math looks right to me. WHY IS IT THAT THE SHITTERS NEVER SHOW UP AND RACE?????
The numbers seem right to me and I have seen the car run for years with the s/c and we all know what nitrous does for the intake charge especially on a ROE. Huge Torque and that wins races.
My car last year dynod 580/680 at Larrys (with a 100 shot only yeilding 80 rwhp)and ran 10.50 all day long. I went to a 150 shot for one pass and ran the 10.19 at only 135 so it is obvious my car doesnt make alot of power with only a 135 trap speed but I feel I got the most out of it going 10.19. The 150 shot dynod 620/690 with no VEC2 tuning.
John your car with the power it is making with the sc/meth/nitrous should run some high 70's or at least low 80's. The power is evident with that trap speed and should be cake getting it to run those numbers. I wish I was making that kind of power with cast pistons.
Jdawg, your a class act. Missed you there it would have been great to run heads up with you. This thread took a different turn then I thought, A lot of people questioning the set-up of the car. The car makes 735 hp and 890 ish torque it has always been tunned on the same Dyno and by the same Person, Larry Macedo. I know there are other cars with 10 lbs pulleys, 150-200 shots of nitrous, propane etc, that are not even making 800 hp, some of it's tunning, and some of it is what the stock Gen II Viper head can flow, this is what these guys are missing. I bet if they drop back to an 8lb pulley, less nitrous, they will make the same power maybe even more. It is not about dumping big power adders on the car, it is about making the combination of power adders work well together.
no questioning here.. I had a kenne bell/n20 combo on my cobra, I know how this shit works. That car is sick, great numbers, great tuner, great results!
i agree with fuelman and 00svtdubs said it correct as well. these screw typ blowers love the nitrous!!! a 70 shot on the front side is multiplied NOT reduced to the back end, meaning the wheels. I personally believe that we dont here about creampuffs doing this more often because most all of them you see built for the strip with good power have had their guts ripped out during the build and replaced with forged parts. I have seen 2003 cobras, my own brothers pick up a stupid 80rwhp on a 30 shot of gas, from the new bottle in a bag setup no less!!! for those that dont know it, compucar makes a nitrous kit that truely is a street racers dream. they built a nitrous setup that takes all but 10 minutes to put on any car. a 10 lb bottle is hidden in a duffle bag in the back with power for the setup provided from the vehicles cigarette lighter. drill the nozzle in place and away you go. like i said on a dyno my brother made 80rwhp out of a 30 pill shot. I believe fuelman is picking up wayyyyyy more than the 70 shot pills he has installed. great work fuelman and hope to see you put her in the nines soon, i think a new clutch will give you what you need to put her there. :thumb:
Those numbers are really good Fuelman, what other mods do you have with you're setup? Have you're heads, roller rockers, and throttle bodies been upgraded? My car with the Roe made 602 / 658 @ 8 psi of boost with stock heads / throttle bodies... however I upgraded to the 10psi pully and the power increased to 620 / 680... I added a NOS 200 shot and ran 10.2 @ 142 but never dyno'd it, I just tuned it in at stock timing with my Innovate wideband on the street. Granted myt 10.2 @ 142 was only my 2nd pass and I need more practice but I didn't spin and I want to say I shifted pretty good... If you're at 735RWHP trapping 143 I must only be picking up 110RWHP from my 200 shot, I guess its possible, it just feels stonger than that when I hit it. Maybe you're right.. My stock heads could be the bottle neck no matter how much spray I throw at it... clearly I only picked up 20RWHP increasing 2 psi, not much of an increase there.Anyway congrats, and nice numbers.... I need to see Larry after Christmas so he can dial me in.
John, others may be too timid to come right out and say it, but I call total BS on this post. Myself and others like me do not believe you have cast pistons. In fact, we are in total disbelief that head work and a smaller pulley do not reside on you car. V10TT, myself, Miami, Orlando and others will contribute the necessary funds to disassemble your engine and inspect for malfeasance. In the event you are vindicated, we will happily reimburse the expense to upgrade your engine. I believe this to be fair?

Put a figure on your offer $$$$ so John can decide. Another words, just make a bet and then John can either upgrade or keep the cash. The pistons can be seen from the bottom in 20 minutes and by looking at either the intake or exhaust ports you can tell about the heads....no need to pull a head. I'm trying to figure out how I can get in on this....any side bets ?? What about my car ..... stock high milage motor with rockers.....any bets on that ??

I wouldn't bet on his internals, Supra's have cast pistons too and make 900+RWHP on stock blocks, I don't think its unreasonable for 2000+ Vipers to make 800RWHP if tuned correct, I know a guy who had a 400 shot of nitrous on his 2001 Viper GTS, it held just fine for quite awhile until it detonated, had he kept the detonation in check who knows how long it may have lasted. Reguardless of how much boost he is running or how much nitrous he's running the car is running strong for sure. Don't hate, congradulate!
