HEY TOM HOW BOUT A NACA DUCT OR HOOD BLOW UP? THE ONE WHOS NACA DUCT OR HOOD GOES HIGHEST IN THE AIR WINS.IM SURE WARDO AND 2TONETTA2 WITH ALL THE NITROUS AND POWER ADDERS WOULD BE GREAT COMPETITION FOR U.IN FACT IT MIGHT BE A 3 WAY TIE FOR FIRST PLACE. :thumb:
So I take it you and your astronaut driver are not up for the challenge? Without
SW owning the only other "motor only" Viper to take you down (lets see..motor only= stroker, GEN III heads, high compression, top fuel cam, lingenfelter dollars, super computer and who knows what else) who are you going to race? shit, I wouldn't even come if I were you.......but hell, come on down, we can watch you make exhibition runs while we all yawn, then I'm buying the Sambucca and Goldschlagger if you can drink with the big boys!
Tom, off topic here but I just dialed in my Viper with your BTR nitrous / Propane kit, i have a guy driving up from Venice tonight to run me in a FRC stroker Corvette with 2 stage nitrous system, I'm running 950 psi N2O Pressure and 148PSI propane, stock timing, 200 shot, 55 nitrous and 49 Propane on each fogger... 11:3 : 1 with a window switch activating from 3 to 5K RPM as you reccomended... the car pulls very hard, much harder than when I ran 10.7 @ 135 on a 120 shot. I'm loving the propane BTW my car is making 620RWHP and 680RWTQ off the bottle, any guess what I'm running with the spray? I was thinking 800RWHP and 900+RWTQ.
see you in two weeks.. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for a 9 second pass.
Sounds like the combination is fine. If you can bump up the propane pressure to 160 and the nitrous to 1050 you will get your best results. My only concern is with the supercharger/nitrous combination. Did you have 11.3 a/f with the jetting as above? If so you are fine and making alot of power! You will have no problem taking down your buddy and most other cars that drive the roads.
Kramer,
Thats no fun........every v-10 nats race had the "pilot" tire shootout.
Yea I had 11.3 just as stated above.. my heaters kick off at 950 and 148 or so, Its a PITA trying to play with the NOS heater, with 950 pressure I'm probably not getting all I could out of it but on one run the pressure was up to 1200 and the air fuel went 12.6 : 1
I think I'll leave everything as it is, I dont want to push it too hard. But I gotta tell you I love the torque!!
If you have the NX heater that comes with all kits since 2004 it works off of bottle pressure and will keep the nos bottle at 1000-1050 whenever the heater is on and the bottle valve is open. Let me know if you want one of them. I also have a propane heater that works using a pressure switch set at 150-165. Most of the time in Florida they are not needed, but they are nice in the 3-4 months of cool evenings.
If you have the NOS heater (pre 2004) there are a few tricks for that one, try removing one of the sensors from under the blanket....be careful to check nos pressure until you get used to what the heater gives before cycling. Remember that higher nos pressure leads to leaner conditions and your forced air induction along with nitrous injection will not be very tolerable to detonation.
Thanks for that reply Tom, I will try leaving one of the nos heater elements out of the strap and see how that goes, right now I have 2 NOS brand heaters, one for the propane and one for the nitrous, so yea I'm sure I have a pre 2004 kit. Right now everything looks good in terms of air fuel, maybe I'm not getting the whole 200 shot with the bottle pressure at 900-950 but its safe and I really don't want to push it too hard anyway, I'm still running a stock longblock on my 99 Viper GTS. Thanks for the advise, it's appriciated! I'll hit you up on those heaters in the near future, I def could use something a little more precise.

JEDI
HAVE NACA DUCTS, WILL TRAVEL!
And Norm drives it down Kroger on 93 octane to go grocery shopping..... Norm you got any bridges for sale?
He cancelled on me after 15 hours or so on the dyno, I guess everything was dialed in but he would spin with his Nitto 305 DR's, I'm waiting for him to get new wheels and tires now. One things for sure, I don't spin... at least in 2nd, I hit the 200 shot in 2nd gear at 40MPH, it was the most violent hit I've ever felt in a car and there was zero tire spin with my 345 BFG's @ 18psi, I make 680RWTQ off the bottle add a 200 shot to that and the torque goes up significantly, also I'm able to do this without retarding timing due to the propane.
you can hit the bottle in second and you get no wheel spin? are you sure you are making the claimed hp? or are you running some new special bfg the rest of us are not aware of? or is it you have your suspension dialed in better than everyone else.
on a side note you sure do have alot of power adders. how do you keep track that everything is working?
