I spent most of the day Friday watching Paul run. There's two things all the reptilian bad asses attending Bradenton must do when Paul arrives down there:
1) Acknowledge how positively fetching he looks in his full fire suit.
2) Crank up the boost.
That car is rabid. Pure evil. When it launches, it reminds me of a cross between Mia Farrow ferociously disgorging her satan spawn and Linda Blair thrashing herself bloody in a fit of demonic convulsion. Good stuff.
Just a friendly firsthand account. Now, let's see some heads lifting.
Good to see you again, bro. I'm just glad your dog didn't swallow anyone by accident. I became concerned when Julio was nowhere to be found HUGE paws on that pup.
I'm sure if Paul hit the 7's he wouldn't be holding back any times....hehe

Are you fucking kidding me? If I hit 7s there would be a new thread every 30 seconds rubbing that shit in. My car, in its current form, will NEVER hit 7s. I'm still running factry heads and that damned hydraulic cam. I'm hitting the rev limiter before I cross the stripe but I can't raise it any higher or the fucker is gonna blow up. As it is, I'm buzzing that motor pretty high.

Congrats Paul. You are still VERY close to achieving that, make now mistake about it.

This was a joke, Dave. Re-read my post. I said I wanted to provide incentive for all guys to step it up. I ran a 40 on Friday. This is pretty much it for my car due to the limitations I stated above. I hope to Christ you can rip off a 7 wheeling a stick. That would be absolutely insane.
Paul i respect your accomplishment however you have a decided advantage over the viper ie: -areodynamics-weight-automatic-stall converter-solid axle. The viper has displacment and bigger turbo's however the 6 speed limits boost due to shifting with the drop off after each shift. The auto will hold soild boost throughout the run, also your 60' is due to the stall and rear end. If you cut a good light by the 60' you should have 2 car lengths on the viper, they are playing catch up and if they miss a shift it's lights out you win. Roof's car at the present level with an auto should be in the high 7's different story. Again your car is cooking and because of less driver input my money"if i was a betting man" would be on you.

Im confused... I thought there an Unlimited class for the Six Speeds and a Unlimited PRO for the auto cars? What is this talk about Roofs car running an Auto car???
Kevin i thought they were running heads up Unlimited run what you brung, i am sorry if i misunderstood. SWEET VIDEO, what was the sparks about on the first run ???????

To clear things up, I'm running in Unlimited PRO; not Unlimited. And I really don't care if I only run for fun. That's what I've been saying all along. Let's all settle down and have some fun, huh? I have NOTHING on Roof's or Chad's car. End of story. The best my car is going to run in that heat is 8.6s or 8.5s. Now that we have that out of the way......
Ron, like I said before we've chosen different paths to get where we are. I had to move away from the 6-speed and irs due to excessive breakage. Repairs were expensive but it went beyond money; my car was in the shop more often than at the track. The two cars' drivetrain is just built differently. Vipers have the trans and clutch in front and can hold up to more hp. If you powershif the 6-speed like I used to, there's very little drop in boost. Maybe that's why I broke so often It also goes beyond the car. You have to be able to cut a good light. I've had a fair share of .00X lights on a .400 pro tree this year. That's one of my strengths and that's why I've been able to beat cars quicker than my Z. I've had races where I had a .4 second advantage on the tree. I'm not sure if the Vette is THAT much more aerodynamic than the GTS? Weight, yes, I come in at about 3100 lbs.
But, come on, these guys are pushing HUNDREDS more hp than me. Are you telling me that the difference in hp, displacement, and number of cylinders STILL puts me at an advantage?
Paul at the power level their at powershifting would probably mean kissing the wall. As you know and stated you have beaten many cars making more power, if your car is not efficent and able to hook and put down the power what good is it. I have seen tons of dyno numbers that just do not add up at the track most are disappointed with their time slips. Why hydraulic and not sild roller cam, were you planning more street than track time? Also a twin Hemi would probably make more power than the V10 so displacement and extra cylinder is not always better.
