Gerald, in the interest of keeping my thread bumped to the top please explain that to me... Also, what size tire are you running? I'm assuming it's a 345. I'd like to hear the logic behind your statement. You're saying that 12.5" inch wheel with 345 mm wide tires has a wider contact patch than a 13" inch wheels with 355 mm wide tires????? Enlighten me b/c I must be missing something...

Only way I could see this being the case is if the contact patch is longer due to a taller tire....

I rather have the wider tire because the wider the tires look the better they look to me (personal preference).

Having said all that, Gerald you'll love the wheels on your car, I also have 505's and love the way they look

I dunno Peter, I spoke with John Purner about it about 2 hours ago,he explained it. he forgot more about tires and rims that I'll ever learn. Perhaps he can explain it better.. :why: He didn't have any in stock. He just today blanked them out today of forged aluminum..

I agree I am in the market for those exact wheels but that is definetly not "priced to sell".

Used wheels are used wheels. I think when you are going to drop 3 grand on some wheels, why not spend a couple hundred and make sure they are 100% perfect, never been mounted and balanced and have some return options.

Jeff, I take it you are not buying the wheels now? Please let me know as I have other interested parties. As for your comment on almost "getting a new asshole" I'm sorry you feel that way. As I've told you all, I'm taking a loss on these wheels, if you are interested they are here to sell, if not, then don't worry about it. I believe that after talking to me on the phone your comment is not only inappropriate but very immature.

Got - the wheels are perfect, 100% perfect, and CCW mounted/balanced them. CCW uses high quality weights, and makes sure the mounting/balancing is done without damaging the wheels. Thanks for your concern though.

Peter, I have already sent you an email, sorry you took exception to the comment. I just felt relieved you gave me an out by raising the agreed upon price at the end. I know you feel your used rims are worth what a vendor would ask for new, minus shipping, but I don't. Like I said in the email, no hard feelings and good luck with the sale.

Actually, you are wrong Jeff. I asked $2900 SHIPPED TO CANADA! How is that cheaper than $2995 plus shipping (per the Roe website you referenced)? Please explain to me... Maybe i'm missing something.

I raised the agreed upon price (which was LOWER than my advertised price) b/c I was under the impression that you were in the US. Shipping to Canada is TWICE as much as shipping in the US, and even under those circumstances I decided to take a hit by NOT asking you to cover the FULL extra cost to ship to Canada. Either way, it's ok, just very UNprofessional and INappropriate to handle this in public like this. Not to mention you can't even get your FACTS straight. Next time you reference a website, make sure you know what you are referencing...

You started this public debate, not me, my first comment could have been left alone, I was not talking to you. You are a very stand off-ish individual, and you have had a very snotty attitude towards everyone here who questions your price. Your rims are used, you are asking $3000 for used rims, (that is what your asking, not $2900...right), when the site I quoted is asking $2995 for new ones. Yes, you are willing to ship for free. You said that would cost $100, right? So why in the hell would anyone buy used, when they can have new for an extra $95. We are not talking about Canadians, because we know you will charge a premium for that. You talk about unprofessional, look in the mirror twit, you have left me no choice but to defend myself. Good luck with your sale, you might want to start fresh on another site, with a reasonable price.

Gerald, have you seen your wheels on an SRT10? I did NOT like how the Purner wheels look on the SRT10, which is why I sold mine and went with the HRE's. THey looked great on my GTS and RT10 though.

You know, I had no idea who you were when we talked today. I've talked to about 7 people over the phone and obviously you left NO impression on me whatsoever. I'm not standoffish, you inferred that I was ripping you off, which I was not. I made it clear that I would be willing to negotiate, and that we did. We agreed on a $2,900 price (SHIPPED). How is $2,995 PLUS SHIPPING cheaper? How can you not understand that $2,900 shipped is CHEAPER than $2,995 PLUS SHIPPING (especially when you factor in Canada shipping prices)? The bottom line is this:

You and I agreed on a price, I posted the wheels were sold

You inferred that I ripped you off on a public board without even contacting me first

You then decide to tell me on a public internet board that our deal is all of a sudden off without even having the respect to contact me over the phone

You then proceeded to defend your position by posting inaccurate information to support your inaccurate claim that you could get them cheaper new

Now, you are calling me names and turning this into a internet battle. I will not stoop to your level on this and call you names back. I think you have done a good job of showing us all that you are not only immature but also someone who cannot be trusted. I feel like I bent over backwards and came OFF my asking price to accomodate you b/c you were "getting married and were tight on money". Why can't someone just buy Peter's wheels!? WTF is everyone attacking him for? Who care's what he's asking for the wheels. If they do not sell, then he'll be forced to lower the price or stick with what he's got. He asked for BUYERS not cheap-skate tire-kickers! If you can't afford what he's selling at his price, move on. Don't fuck around and waste his time.

As far as I've seen over the years on the boards, and going by what the many, many people have said that have met him, Peter is a great guy. You people trying to cut him down when he's trying to sell something is just a total lack of class. Don't hold a chip on your shoulder because he's offering them at a "close to new" price. They ARE practically brand new. I bet the Lot boys that put on your last set of wheels, joyrided your Viper for more miles than these CCW's have on them.

I wish they had the same backspacing as the cobra's and I'd buy them in a heartbeat, Ive got these in 18's right now and wish i'd gone 19's...good luck, they will go soon enough
