hey guys.. i could finally afford to get a viper.. im looking for a used 95 or so rt 10. im just curious what you guys pay for insurance on a viper.. Of course my insurance is under my dads name. im 21 and i would have to pay way to much.. my srt4 is under his name and i pay 2800 a year for full coverage.. thanks
Re: wanting to join the wonderful viper world.. How much for insurance though?
why is the gts less then the rt? and i will get a viper no matter what the insurance will cost. its the car i want. i just wanna have an idea.. i wanna know what some of you guys pay.. thanks
Re: wanting to join the wonderful viper world.. How much for insurance though?
Try www.hagarty.com. They will insure Vipers, as long as you can show that you have another car for your daily driver. If the viper is going to be your only car, then Hagerty is not an option. You can also look in to www.grundy,com, as they offer similar services. I know you can get a quote on-line from Hagerty, and they will allow stated value. Stated value is a good idea on a Viper, you do not want to get what the insurance company calls the book value, as it will be way low. Good luck!! :thumb:

make sure you have another car and insure the viper as a low millage per year driver. I pay for full coverage around $1100.00-$1300.00, Coverage that covers all my upgrades. You go out and buy "insurance" and you pay one price. You buy insurance that covers the cost to replace everything (ie) custom seats, wheels etc and you pay a different prem.

So said Toby
and yea....get one of those 95 GTS's
Oh come on, the 95 GTS's are OK, but they are nothing compared to those 1998 V-12 powered SRT-10's DC secretly came out with back then. :thumb:
Seriously though take your time and look for the right insurance, and if you get an RT, aim for at least a 96 with rear exit exaust, or better yet a 97 so at least you'll get the Gen 2 motor and the deeper style "GTS" front Fascia, and thats no joke

I don't pay $2800 a year for 5 cars
The exact reason I have an 85 Honda Accord as my daily driver........I have 4 cars and pay 1900.00 a year with 100/300/100 coverage with 250 deductables on all my cars....My viper is rated for 3k a year in miles....Watch your coverages as well.

i have the worst driving record known to man. I have three cars under my name with full coverage. When i added the viper it went up around 180 bucks a month. I am 23.

Just Stage 2 w/out toys and a JMB 3" CAI as far as actual performance mods go (other mods are Mopar STS, JMB Powdercoating, JMB Catch Can, and a few other little things). I'll get around to doing more (like exhaust, map clamp, etc) at some point in time. I use it as a daily driver so I don't want it to be too crazy. What about you?
