Ok, since my car was put up for sale. I have sold it 3 times. 3 different deposits. I gave everyone one week to close the deal. So far everyone has given me a reason to cancel. #1 Sorry I thought about it and cannot afford to get one right now, I'll keep you in mind. Deposit check stopped. #2 After one week, my wife talked me out of getting a viper, sorry. cancels check and never heard from again. let message on my phone. #3 I thought I shouldn't have a problem with financing but so far no bank has approved me. Can you wait another week or so? Gave him 10 more days. He lost $500 deposit. I wanted to sale my car before I moved in to my new hs. That didn't happen. I am going to try and sale it one last time. Anyone interested in purchasing the car please have finacing ready or cash on hand. Once we come to terms I expect $1000 deposit (non-refundable) plus you will have 96 hours to transfer fund. I am going to offer the car for $44000. http://www.viperalley.com/classified...t=2&page=2
Hopefully one of the members and get a great deal.
After selling lots of Viper performance parts and parting on my 99 RT I do have to say that there are a bunch of tire kickers and scum bags who just dont follow through with deals and keep you hanging. I'm glad those days are over. Good luck with your sale.
That is why when ever I sell...I never ask for a deposit. I tell them...the car is yours when I receive payment in full. Otherwise the car is still for sale.
Man, when I sold my ACR, I had the SAME stories! One of the shitbirds is even a member on here! Finally a guy stepped up, said he wanted it, and bought it! Then the crazy basterd DROVE it back to Oregon from Texas!!
Car is in very good condition, only minor scratches on the front bumper. The car even has DC warranty til 75k or 2009 bumper-to-bmper. there are a few half inch scratch that every used driven car has. it ain't perfect. Thats why i don't understand why selling it is so hard. Thanks for input guys. I will require a higher cash deposit next time. Thats a good idea about selling it to a dealer. Just bought a new house thats the reason for sale.
On one of the pictures it looks like a bird dropped a turd on the windshield. I would lose the wheels, go back to the stock polished ones and put on the chrome emblems. It will sell. Or go the other way, black rims with black emblems. I think most prefer chrome. Either way, good luck on the sale, you just have to wait for the right buyer.
Toby, ""That is why when ever I sell...I never ask for a deposit. I tell them...the car is yours when I receive payment in full. Otherwise the car is still for sale""...we BOTH agree then.
Both can be forged. Cashier's checks can have a stop payment put on them. Make them draw in on a local bank so you can cash it on the spot or wire transfer.

Try to stop pay a cashiers check. My bank will not let you unless it's lost. If you claim it's lost and them it comes through from the guy you had it made out to I would assume you'd be in trouble. Call the bank that issued it to make sure it's not fake and you're good to go.
