For those who have stock cats. The higher flow cats, reduced the cabin/sill temp, just a tad bit. A bit more HPs when on the throttle. More noise now

Re: High Flow Cats installed...

no exhaust , just the cats from Valaya Racing. Was hoping that it would lower the temps. In the cabin. It only did a little bit. The only major thing it increased. Was the power.

Re: High Flow Cats installed...

I just had Ted (at Valaya) replace my Random Techs with Dynatechs (Ted's suggestion). After a few years my Random Techs were plugged. I figure its from tracking a lot because the car runs really rich at high RPM, and that probably burned them up prematurely. We'll see how these Dynatechs do - they do fit better since they're round (as seen in your pic).

Mark,
Did Ted do ALL the work on your car? What mods do you have?

Re: High Flow Cats installed...

I'm considering swapping out the stock cats as well. I'm less concerned with cabin temp than I am with discoloring from the heat that I've been warned about.

The trick is, who the heck to trust to install 'em? Woodhouse do exhaust work?

How much did it change the sound, btw?

Re: High Flow Cats installed...

Fervor,

Changing the cats didnt do much to lower the sill or cabin temps. Alot of poeple say that it does. But ill tell you. what are they talking about???? Its tiny. Maybe just enough to stop your sills turning yellow. Youll still be driving with the AC on, or your windows partly rolled down.

Yeah, its alot noiser, sounds like you changed your exhaust. But the power increase is really good. That is the ONLY thing that was a "big" change. :thumb:

Re: High Flow Cats installed...

I did HF cats with the corsa catback, and that combo did reduce side sill temps A LOT. If you have white or silver you definitely should go with high flows and a cat-back or your sills will discolor without a doubt.

Vipeuup, Ted didn't do all the work on my car. There used to be another shop down the street from me that did most of the work but the business changed hands and now I go to Ted. You can PM me if something is on your mind.
