hey guys, new to the viper alley..
car is a 2002 viper GTS w/ Paxton Supercharger @ 16lb of boost, Blue Diamond Pistons, crower racing cams, 1.7 roller rocker arms w/ push rods, 700cc injectors, methanol tank, aluminum flywheel, mopar plug wires, iridium spark plugs, TNT full header race exhaust w/ hi-flow cat, 3.55 gears, G force built Tranny , upgraded half shafts, stop tech big brake kit all around, full john hennessey facia.....
here's the problem
after driving the car for half an hour or so , when i come to a red light, the idle jumps to 2000 from 550 , and goes back and forth, black smoke comes out of the ehxaust and the a/c vents, and the car dies out... after 20 - 30 minutes, i can restart the ar, drive it normallly on the highway, but once its idling it does...
my mechanic set the idle from 400 to 550.... he said if he goes any higher , it will mess with the computer... we triple checked everythign from spark plugs, to timing, to wires, to fuel injectors, and we are still having the same problem... im thinking to go with the AEM stand alone fuel management system....
car dynoed 1000 hp...
by the way, im located in New York City... what do you guys think the problem might be ? oh yea, as far as the temp, the car hasnt exceeded 200* .... the temp gauge sits at 190-195...
thanks guys for reading this , and for any help you might have..
