What problems should I look for? and Good deal or not?
Okay....newbie here to both this forum and potential Viper ownership...so take it easy on me! I am looking at this 95 RT-10 with <5k miles. What are the known issues with the 95's (did I hear something about head gasket problems?) and do you think a price of about $37k is a good deal? Thanks for your assistance. Car looks clean overall but is missing the original wheels. I would enquire as to where those are, why they are not on the car and if they come with the car. If they are not around perhaps the car was put over a curb or something. The front left side of the hood looks to have a minor adjustment issue but nothing major.

Thank you...where do you see a possible adjustment to the left part of the hood? I must be blind. Also, the wheels are not stock? They appear to have the Viper emblem on them. Also...what do you think about $37k? I appreciate your quick response! Do you know of any special problems with the 95's? I have looked at the TSB's but don't see anything major.

Definitely do BOTH compression and leakdown test! Not doing so cost me over $5K!!!! Compression test checked out fine. Subsequent (after purchase) leakdown test showed 3 cylinders at over 30%.

A ten year old car with less than 5k miles - thus less than 500 a year, less than 50 a month, I'd be real worried that a lot of things have gone bad on it, dry rot, etc., and it certainly better not have the original "now bricks" tires?!

If you look at the gap between the fascia and edge of the hood you can see that it's much too large. 1/4 of an inch is a reasonable gap. This is huge.
Should be closer to this side...
Those wheels are stock wheels but only on 96-98 Vipers. The wheels that should be on this car are grey 3 spoke wheels.
37k is a bit on the high side but it's a pretty clean car

Wow..great catch on the hood thing...I'll be sure to scrutinize that and thanks for the info on the tires. If I do it (it's long distance), I will probably contract with a mechanic there to have the compression testing done before purchase (unfortunately I am an idiot when it comes to mechnaical issues...but at least I admit it honestly!)

about the gap between the hood and the bumper aka facia. Probably just forgot to also push down on the left and right side of the hood after closing it. Its normal. If I close the hood on my 97 GTS and forget to also push down the left and right side of the hood Above the headlight. There will be big gaps.
That car looks cherry, and with so little miles. Just get the belts checks out. Rubber tends to crack, after time..

I agree about mounting the front license plate...but in Colorado I will have to have it on there as well. As for the wheels being from a different year...the guy said he didn't like the 95 wheels and bought 96 wheels to put on. I like the 96 wheels better as well. Claims it was only summer driven, never wrecked or worked on and has only had Mobil 1 oil.
