94 intake manifold question

I found out that 94 vipers should have a three rib intake manifold instead of the original four rib style used on the 93 and 92 models. The car i have has a four rib model on it, but it is a 94. I have checked with Dodge to see if there is any history of warranty repair or major service, but none shows for the car. The carfax is clean and the car has no paint work on it, so a major accident is not to blame.

I decided to go online and view pics of other 94 rt/10's and found that most had the three rib manifold, but there were a few that had the four rib like mine.

Can anyone tell me if they have more info concerning this? Were there some early 94's that still used the four rib intake? What was the problems with the four rib intakes that made dodge switch over to a three rib design?
