I Race sport bikes for a hobby. Looking to get into a performance car for the days I want 4 wheels not 2. I have been looking at used rt-10's. One thing that has been turning me off about the older ones it the window setup. At what year do the windows improve. This will be used as a semi daily driver not a garage queen as I believe its called here time to time. I will take good mechanical care of the vehicle but not anal about keeping it out of the rain etc. Any tips/suggestions ?.
And no ack I do not even have a garage but I do plan on putting it in one for the winter. I am in eastern PA.
OK now for the super stupid question. What is the reaction people give you with this vehicle. Does it attract women ( the bad kind i.e. gold diggers) Do people think you have s.p.s. ( small penis syndrome ) . I know I shouldn't care but am afraid I will look like one of those guys that is having some sort of mid-life crisis I am only 32 but have loved vipers for a long time. Please try not to flame me to bad but I am curious of your experience with others reactions.
Those are "Gen I" Vipers. The Gen II starting in 96 had power windows (same year the GTS showed up). The RT/10 in 96 is often called a Gen 1 1/2 because it didn't get all the good stuff (suspension & engine changes) that showed up in the new GTS until 97.
Reactions are generally good. You'll mostly get crap from people with other sports cars. You're probably used to that if you do any kind of racing.
I really don't know if the Viper helps get chicks, since chicks have always gravitated towards my pulsating charm and throbbing good looks, I really saw no change after getting my Viper.
No change after getting my second Viper either.
If you have difficultly getting chicks and don't have the animal magnetism that few like me were gifted with, make more money.
If you want real windows, start looking for 97-up RT/10's or 96-up GTS's. I have a 96 RT/10 and the car attracts all sorts of people (even with fake windows in the trunk lol). Not just girls and not just golddiggers. (I have more guys stop and ask me questions about the car than girls. damnit!). I havent heard any small penis syndrome comments, but i have heard a lot of "this is just a pussy getting car" comments lol).

Also, the looks as if it could have had a re-paint. The stripes on the 96's were tiger tooth(came to a point on the very front of the hood), and stopped on the rear trunk lid. I don't see a sports bar installed and that piece is gettting REAL expensive($500 or more). If you want the real windows, it must be a 97 or later. Depending on where you live, you may have a difficult time using it as a daily driver, may get away with it in San Diegeo. What ever you do, make sure to have a Viper tech check the car out.

1. Unless a woman is into cars (i.e. races or enjoys modifying or collecting them) any woman attracted by a car is likely to be a gold digger. Not wrong, just what they are. As another poster here said just get yours while the getting is good as the downside to the gold digging game is having to sleep with a few poseurs in order to land Richy Rich. They know the score.
2. The Viper gets all sorts of over the top reactions; it is not a subtle car and people react strongly to it. Most people love it but more than a few are envious in a bad way.
3. Not many think of it as a car whose driver has s. p. s. The perception is that it is a brute to drive and I think that damages a few fragile male egos to see another male drive one. One guy who thought he was being cute in front of his lady friend made the small penis syndrome comment as I went to the car in a parking lot. I offered to demonstrate the fallacy (phallusy?) of the premise right there. She thought that was funny and he got mad. I bet he didn't get any that night.
Ok so I want a 97 or newer rt-10 ( for real windows). As for daily driver of course I did not mean in the winter. Mostly pointing out the fact that some abuse by collector standards is fine by me. I wont have it beat up looking but if its raining and I want to take it I will. I wont wax and polish it every day ect. It will however be garaged in the winter. I would like to stay around 40k. Is that unrealistic ? Like I said it does not need to be showroom condition but the nicer the better of course. Are these dependable cars? I read alot of threads on here and while some great information is availible it usually consits of modding.

What the heck are you talking about? The "sport bar" is the big roll-bar-looking thing that goes all the way across the back, where the rear window installs. I've looked at the photos several times and I don't see anything missing. But then, I have a Gen II, so maybe I'm wrong.
Stripes are hardly an indication of a re-spray. It's always wise to give any used Viper a very close once over -- they're notorious for washed salvage titles and other problems -- but dealer-added stripes are very commonplace and don't necessarily have to be model-year correct.

EvilAcr now that you read my post in depth and with a mature thought process how about some insight to my other questions. Or does taking one part of my post and ripping it apart make you feel significant enough.
