Hey all,
I am a new owner of a 1997 blue/white GTS. I love the Viper! But before anyone jumps in here...yes...I must be the dumbest hillbilly redneck to ever grace the seat of a Viper. Can anyone tell me where the battery is located in this '97?
Flame suit on!!! *LOL* The problem is that I didn't get an owners manual with the Viper...19,000 miles on her, and the original owner must have wanted to keep the manual for a momento. I did get the Chrysler extended warranty though...that's good, right? Now...How do I accesss the battery?

Where are you located? I'm stuck in LA, about as hillbilly as you get :thumb:
I am in the east Tennessee hills...between Knoxville and Chattanooga. I guess you have heard of the "Tail Of The Dragon"? Maybe the Cherohala Skyway? I am about 30 minutes from both of these wonderful "twisty" driving locations.
Yep, this heres a redneck Tennessee hillbilly, but still enjoys driving the most wonderful vehicle ever made...Nice to meet all of you, and thanks for the battery info! (former Vette owner here, for MANY years), drooled after the Viper, now I have my dream car!

Hey 1Tony1,
Yep, Ringgold is not far south of me at all! As a matter of fact, I talked with Ringgold Chrysler about locating me a GTS, but when I talked with Mike last week, he said he did'nt have one, and he had no idea when he would. I located this one near Atlanta, at a dealership. Nice to meet all of you guys!
That is a very clean looking Viper you just got there.I have to admit that I learned something today.I did not know the battery was located there on a Viper either and I must applaud the engineers for their efforts.I can now see one of the reasons the Viper is as balanced as it is.
BTW, I relocated the battery on my Supra to the rear as well for better weight transfer. Looks like Dodge's engineers were one step ahead of Toyota's in that dept.
