What intake to get?

I am going to get a new intake for my 98 gts, but havent decided on which one. I know the S And B Filter are only around $70 and the KN dual cone kit is over $300. Does the KN offer much if any HP increase over just the filters?

Re: What intake to get?

I have been using the Redline Motorsport Viper Intake System but don't really like the look anymore, so I went back to the stock airbox. I didn't notice any performance difference between S&Bs and this cone filter setup. Dyno numbers were really close as well. I am selling this setup. It was $374 from RMS. It includes 2 large cone filters and tubes + 2 small ones that attach to the valve covers. I'll let them go for $150 + actual shipping if interested.

Re: What intake to get?

Wouldnt that kind of setup suck in a lot of hot engine air because it doesnt have that piece like the KN cone filter setup does?

Probably while sitting in traffic, but as I said, I couldn't tell the diff performance-wise. It's more of a visual impact IMHO.

Re: What intake to get?

Put in after market filters and smooth tubes, anything else has shown to loose power to date. A set up like the one Detlef has is as close as you can get to OEM box power, but still 5-10 hp short.
