Hey guys we have begun doing some testing with Nitromethane and Methanol injection. We have not and will not post final results until everything is complete, but some indications of what's to come has been posted. So if your running a TT or S/C system, you maybe interested. I will be testing a higher % on my own vehicle soon and will post the results as well.

JZ,
That % of nitromethane is being used in an alcohol fueled motor ? How does this apply to a blown Viper motor running on gas with a water/methanol on boost addition. Most water injection systems will run at about 10% by volume of the gasoline used. At 2% nitro/methanol mix would be so small in this case as to have little effect ( I think ) Therefore the % of nitro would have to be stepped up considerably to make a difference. Has anyone any experience of the mixing of nitro with a water/methanol mix.

BTW, hasnt nitro been mixed with methanol for indy cars in the past, and even been used pre WW2 in the works Mercedes and Auto Unions ?

It does sound very interesting.

Just reread the LS1 post, those AFR's do indicate a gas burning motor, now I am confused......Call for clarification please

Yes its a gas burning engine. Running methanol and nitro injection. Its quite interesting so far. We plan to push the % of nitro up gradually. I would like to see 50% meth and 50% nitro...hehe. But I don't know how its going to react.

Jose, what is the specific heat absorption of nitromethane in relation to that of methanol?

I friend of mine who use to be crew chief or something like that for the Snake, has a daily driver that run nitro/meth mix pre turbo. Its on a 4 cyl turbo ford T bird, The car it self it nothing special but the power it makes reliably is.

He has something like 200,000 on the car, about 100,000 of that is with the meth/nitro injection. Dont remember the exact numbers buy he said that the car makes more at 15lb's with the mix than it did at 30 on just turbo.

Also remember by volume, you will have to burn quite a bit more of methanol per volume of gasoline. With meth 136% more meth is burned vs volume of gas. With nitro, you are looking at 788% more burned vs volume of gas.
