Are you turbo guys using stock head gaskets or cometic gaskets? I am taking the heads off the car to get reflowed and lap the valves, and need some suggestions for the gasket replacement.

Stock head gaskets is all you need. If someone is losing head gaskets its the tune not the gasket.. Think of the gasket being a fuse...think about that! :thumb:
I talked with the SVS guys today and they said they have not had problems iwth the stock gaskets. They seem to be a multi metal layered gasket which is a great design IF and only IF the head and block surfaces are perfectly flat and true. I was unaware that they were multi metal layer from the factory until now.
This is the same design on the modular ford engines and they work geat till 22+PSI manifold pressure. Commetic gaskets do not seem to seal much better but are definatly a LOT more forgiving if the heads are not 100% true.
DynoDaddy, You have a 96. I'm not sure if yours came from the factory with the multi metal layer gaskets. Mine is a 95 and it didn't. I've heard various reports on when the gaskets went to the new design. My old gaskets sucked and I replaced them a month ago with the new ones.
Regardless, you are replacing them based on your post. You'll need the other gaskets too like intake, exhaust, maybe thermostat, etc. but beware of the price. A OEM set of the total kit of gaskets for me was $800 and that was with a 20% discount no tax.
most applications probably dont NEED cometic gaskets. but they dont cost much more than stock and they are SIGNIFICANTLY better than stock. so if you want the BEST head gasket for the Viper then this is the one. For somebody planning to run their car really hard at the track, its cheap insurance.
