What clutches are working well out there?

I am putting together a package for a customer's gen 2 Viper to include a host of Roe parts to include the s/c kit, revamped fuel system, methanol inj kit, perf axles + loops and a clutch. The car will see more daily driving than drag strip or track, but we plan to run a 10lb pulley if the fuel system can keep up. Roe offers the OE and the Centerforce. Surprisingly, the OE itself seems to be a robust unit, as I have flogged my 99 ACR quite a bit at the strip this year already without any issues. But the customer wants to do this right the first visit. Advice?

Thanks guys

For the application you are describing, stock would be the best bang for the buck.

Stock clutches are amazingly strong.

I thought so. Let me ask, is the stock pp 'adjustable' to improve clamping force? Example, for the C5s, LUK offers a beefed up OE clutch package that has a modified pp. This pp has a ring under the hat (behind the diaphram) that can be turned CCW (or is it CW?) an inch or two to increase the preload on the diaphram, which increases the clamping force ~30%. Cool free adjustment. I have not seen the Viper clutch out on the bench yet.....

That IS one great clutch! I did a Spec in my new car, and I'm not so sure I like it. It's chattery, and I don't think it holds very well. I think I'll try the Centerforce next time. BTW, I blew the clutch up in the SRT after a few hundred miles. The one in the ACR was from the factory.

I have the RPS on mine with an aluminum flywheels and I love it. My car isn't heavily modded yet and I wanted to get a good clutch in before I do my power adders. You may want to look into RPS as I've only heard good things about them. I know a few heavily modded cars that are street/strip that are running this clutch also.

I like my tilton unit. The only problem is the cost. It has a smaller dia flywheel and the clutch is 7.25" you loose about 50 lbs of rotating weight however and the clutch can be modulated or let out easy if needed. The clutch can also be rebuilt up to a certain point.
