My stock Alpine CD player doesnt like burned CDs

Hey bros,

In my 97 GTS , my stock Alpine CD player doesnt like to play burned CDs. Does anyone have had this problem before??

My 99 plays burned CDs just fine. I don't remember if the deck is the same or not.

I am a little upset that it doesn't play mp3's though.

You are burning in the wrong format. Mine is stock, and plays all my burned Cd's. Burn them to play in 'All Compatible Devices'.

What program are you using to burn them? I could never get them to work in my '98 GTS.

I use Nero and have never had a problem. I think the issue may just be format related. The songs burned to CD need to be converted to .wav audio format. No .mp3, .wma, or Real Audio files.

Also, be sure to close the session. If you leave the session open it could be the source of your problem on older players.

Also, check your record speed, if I burn at anything over 4X my player will not read them.

Agree with closing the session. Just had that, fixed it, now plays.

Roxio...and good advice on the closing the session. Burn speed has not been a factor.

You need to buy the immation blue cdrs. Some cdrs are tougher to read than others. The immations have a dark blue side making them easier to read. The greens and the yellows are tougher to read on older cdplayers.

Thanks for all of your responses... If I cant get mine to play burned discs. Then Ill just sell the stock cd player and get updated with a new system...
