We had the opportunity to test a customer's 2004 Viper SRT10 with our Venom 1000 Twin Turbo system today. This was done on an airbase where we were able to run just over a mile.
The runway was slightly uphill and there was a 15 mph headwind pretty much all day (there was a 20 mph windsock that was almost fully extended). The first run we ran 207 mph in the mile and ran 221 mph in a little over 6000 ft. The second run we ran 210.2 mph in the mile and did it in 25.2 seconds.
I will try to post some pics and maybe a video later in the week. Many thanks to the guys in the shop for preparing the car, to driver Brian Smith for laying down the numbers and to car owner, Ralf Braun.

210........ is that fast???????????
John, when I was your age, I used to walk to and from school uphill both ways in the rain.......
Hey just kidding! Great #'s!
When we talked earlier today, I thought you went that fast at 6,000 feet of elevation.
Did you datalog your EGT's throughout the runs? Enquiring minds want to know!
What kind of equipment did you use to measure the mile and the speed at the end of the mile?
PC, would traction control be needed to keep from spinning the first 1000 feet? Just seems like it would be difficult on street tires to achieve that speed in 25 seconds.
John
ps - but I guess we didn't do to bad a year or so ago on street tires.

John, just think how it was like 30 degrees outside when we made our runs really 2 years ago this December.
I can see them putting a mile down in 25 seconds if they did boost by MPH.
I would be curious exactly how they measured the MPH and time to go exactly one mile.

The data was independently tested using Vbox gps data acquisition. We ran 0-200 mph in a hair over 20 seconds on Pilot Sport's with 32 psi of air pressure.

John that is the kind of information I love to see!
0-200 in 20 seconds is BAD-ASS!
Was the 221 MPH the rev limiter in 5th?
Did you know going that fast is DANGEROUS? I hope your driver was at least wearing a helmet! :thumb:
John,
That is really cool. I have been looking into participating in one of these events. How was the track at high speeds? One of my concerns is instability at speed. Was it pretty smooth?
