I would like to thank John and Brian Smith and John's crew for a job well done in breaking the standing 1 mile record with my Viper. I plan on retaining the car in its original configuration as when the record was set. I was fortunate enough, to do a couple of short spurts at around 150 mph or better after the record setting run...which was a thrill I won't soon forget. When John asked last winter if I would want to be a part of a record breaking attempt, I was unsure as to what would happen. Luckily, his encouragement that we could do it was all that was needed for me to want to attempt it. My son, Todd, owns a NASCAR Busch team (the #32 car) and has had a rough year and just recently lost his driver and we have been rather down on auto racing....this will give us both a "pick up" for the year. You might catch him on NBS 24/7 every Monday night on the speed channel. Once again, thanks John and Brian for a great day!
