Thanks for the welcome Tony. And thanks for the clue, but I don't need one, just thought I would make a funny posting a pic of the Hennessey car since the UGR guys got their panties in a bunch after my first pic post of the Heffner setup and I figured I would run it a little further in light of the recent allegations by M2 that Dirk Diggler and others were an AE of Hennessey.
Consider me a professional lurker.

Kenny, The clue is: Dansauto was saying it was Hennessys car.....not that you were Hennessy. That said, I understand why you would think otherwise :thumb:

I can vouche that DDiggler is right on this one. It is cool to be John, the man the myth, the legend in his own mind, the texas tuna. :thumb: now if i could just make a car run like Bevis then i might have something to brag about...

I'm with you buddy :thumb: But what I was saying was I saw Hennessey wedged rather tightly into the cabin prior to posting the pic. I've been admiring his cars since I was in diapers and still shitting green. The whole thing was kind of a joke to lighten the mood in this somewhat ridiculous discussion.

Hey John...when you get those royalty checks you can forward them to me. :thumb:
I have been away from the board for a bit...but this is some funny shit. As Jason mentioned...it would be very hard from a patent law angle to pin someone down for infringement or unauthorized reproduction of a component or system. The real tell here is if both parties know that it was a blatant rip.
The reality is that an innovator in any field will be copied as others try to pursue the same dollar. Marketing separates the known from the unknown and the natural selection process takes over....with the strong and resourceful on the winning side, no matter if they were the "originator" or not.
As an example...while working for John, I performed the first in-tank pump upgrade on a Gen 2 car. Did that allow for me to corner the market on fuel system upgrades for Vipers.....no. It was more of a necessity for a project than something designed strictly for profit as a stand-alone upgrade. Should I be pissed if others figured it out and have since duplicated the feat? No, because that is the nature of the business....and ultimately we are all working within a FINITE field....nothing is truly new or innovative unless it involves never before used materials in its construction, period.
BUT, according to Gary J. .... since I don't own a Viper, my comments probably are of no value to this hardened bunch of techheads and racers here on Viperalley.... WTF??????? That is a sure fire way to alienate those that actually have some knowledge on the mechanical side of the game.... and for the record, since this is/was/will be a pissing contest forever and ever... I have forgotten more about making a car fast than most of the DIAMOND studded athletic supporters here will ever know.
More power to Heffner / UGR / and the rest of warring Viperdom for being passionate about their work. Go forth and try to be as creative as possible.

HOS,
Let me clear this up... I meant this as a general statement. I think between thinking it and typing it, something got lost in translation. I did not mean to knock nonviper owners, and I should not have focused on the viper owner side of things. Here is the simplest way to say what I was thinking. If you really know your shit, and you have something of value to add the conversation, then by all meant, say it. If you are not sure about the subject, there is no need to participate just to show everyone how much you (don't) know.
I would be the last person to give advise on dragracing, because, so far, I am not that good at it. What gets to me is when someone with even less experience tries to give me pointers. That's the last person I need advise from. Hopefully you understand the point I am trying to make.
I hope I did not offend any of the "contributers" around here. That was not my intention.

There isn't anyone on this forum who puts it on the line and in the open with no excuses that you Mr. Javo. If I were Chad, I'd keep an eye on you. :thumb:
