Greg Good is the Man!

I'm no flow number expert, but I'd be interested in knowing if there is a better flowing set of Viper heads out there than these (flow numbers below). The maximum flow is certainly impressive, but the midlift flow may be even more impressive--these heads flow as much at .400 as my current set of ported heads do at .600. I'll post the hp increase over my current heads as soon as it's available, but it will probably be a couple of weeks. These heads continued to flow more even at .800 (over 340 intake), but I'll never see anything close to .800 with my cam; maybe I should take off the blower, raise the compression, get a monster cam and join the ALLCAPS brigade.

Intake:
.200 - 150 cfm
.300 - 214
.400 - 267
.500 - 301
.600 - 318
.700 - 337

Exhaust:
.200 - 128
.300 - 171
.400 - 206
.500 - 226
.600 - 237
.700 - 242

Everyone needs to know that these are the GTSR castings, not standard Gen 2 castings. The port walls are much thicker and a head porter can do more with them without breaking through. These heads also have custom machined 2.050" intake valves in them.

Re: Greg Good is the Man!

Funny about that though... my standard heads have #'s that aren't too far off of these.

Great work once again, Mr Good!

Oh yeah?? Well my heads and valves are bigger than your heads and valves.

Hey Joseph, did you change pullies when you put the "Good" heads back on, or did you gain over 100 rwhp while losing some boost?

Re: Greg Good is the Man!

Didn't change pulleys at all. Just re-tuned to the same A/F I had before.

Boost, believe it or not, was about the same. I'm pretty sure that the paxton was already on the edge of over-driven to begin with, so the boost #'s weren't that much lower at all. I was expecting to see a boost loss, but it didn't happen. I sure wasn't expecting to see that much of a power gain either. dang!

BTW - i conceed... your valves are bigger than mine.

JD

Re: Greg Good is the Man!

Thanks JD, that's interesting about the boost. Needless to say, I'm curious about how my setup will react to the increased airflow.
