HENNESSEY HEADERS GAIN 40 HP OVER BALLENGER HEADERS ON LPE MOTOR ONLY
DATELINE DECATUR,INDIANA..... LEGENDARY LINGENFELTER PERFORMANCE ENGINEERING........ENGINE DYNO TESTING ON THE 542 C.I. STROKER MOTOR ONLY....... YIELDED A 40 HP GAIN ON THE BIG END OVER THE BALLENGER HEADERS WHEN THE HENNESSEY HEADERS WERE TESTED TODAY.PEAK HORSEPOWER WITH THE BALLENGERS IS 808.PEAK HORSEPOWER WITH HENNESSEYS IS 848.WE ARE RUNNING A STOCK RE FLASHED PCM AND HAVE YET TO TEST WITH THE AEM COMPUTER.BOTH HEADERS ARE 1.75 IN SIZE.WE HAVE YET TO TEST BURNS MERGER COLLECTORS ON THE 2 HEADERS.TO ARRIVE AT REAR WHEEL HORSEPOWER YOU WOULD FACTOR IN AN 11 PERCENT LOSS FROM THE ENGINE DYNO NUMBERS FOR INQUIRING MINDS.THE HEADER TESTING IS THE FIRST PHASE OF A 6 PHASE ENGINE TESTING PROGRAM NOW IN PROGRESS.LINGENFELTER ENGINE DYNO SHEET TO FOLLOW.TICK-TOCK TICK-TOCK WARDO AND 2TONETTA2 ARE ALMOST OUT OF TIME ON THE CLOCK!

Fuck, that's alot of NA HP. Norm, try the Burns collectors and have someone that knows what they're doing tune the AEM; you're looking at over 900 RWHP, all motor.

Norm, sounds reasonable to me. I would think the 5 into one collector should yiels better results than the tri-Y.
I wonder what the average HP and TQ #'s across the entire RPM range for each header would yield.
I also remember seeing George Bryce's engine on the dyno and the 5 into one collector did not narrow down from the 5 into one collection point and then back up to the 3" exhaust size. It was just a straight 3" all the way out.
The Hennessey headers I have seen are the same as the B&B(I believe B&B copied the design from John).
I would think the 5 into one collector an any header would be most important to get the scavenging effect for the NA application. Unless the primary tubes are tuned in their lengths for a specific application, I doubt the headers make much of the difference.

K, so this will give us all a good baseline once you post the numers from the chassis dyno. If you use the 12% rule that is a buttload of horsepower lost, which I don't believe. Can't wait to see the Dynojet results, Normie!

LARRY ITS A 11 PERCENT LOSS ON THIS ONE.WE ARE DOING A BUNCH OF OTHER THINGS.THIS WAS JUST STEP ONE..... THE HEADER PROGRAM.........WE MAY OR MAY NOT SHOW FINAL DYNOJET RESULTS.CYA!
