Replaced OEM (it was just "time" to do it) with the Luk clutch
The clutch pedal was SO MUCH easier to press, but that wasn't the problem...
On the test drive, it seemed to slip. Symptoms: a bit of vibration at WOT, rpm tachs out with small increase in mph, and lastly the infamous clutch smell..
any ideas how this can happen? Anyone have any experience with this kit before. Are there any calibrations or adjustments that are necessary?
it was recommended by MANY including all of viper alley who chimed in on an earlier thread.
???????
Something smells rotten in Denmark, Norman. I have installed and raced many of the LUK rep sets without issues you describe. I recommend to all of our clients to break a new clutch in for at minimum 500 miles before spirited driving. Who performed the install?
Thanks guys, No I haven't been beating on it. I did go WOT only a couple of times (literally), but nothing major at all. My viper tech installed it at the Chrystler dealership. He's an upstanding guy that I am actually personal friends with, so i know there was no mal intent.
Hopefully all is well, during break-in the flywheel and clutch are bedding into each other. The issue during break-in is chatter because the two surfaces are not mated yet. There is nothing about the break-in period that should cause a vibration once the clutch is let out. i would try to verify there that you didn't tear up a piece of the disc. Just drop the inspection cover and check for any debris.
