Anyway to get into a Viper after locking and setting the alarm (with the keys inside)? Do I have to break the back window or is there a better way? The Viper is a 98 RT/10 (it has all the windows up, back window is in, and hard top is on).
Pry open the side window very carefully, and reach over to the emergency release with a coat hanger or something. I did it a couple of times when I had my R/T. It's time consuming, but it can be done.
BC - So what did you use to pry the window? I was thinking maybe a screwdriver with a towel over it? Seems like this would be wayto easy for theives though? But hey if it works, I'll try it. As I said earlier, I really don't want to break the rear glass window.

Before you do anything buy a slim jim kit off ebay, we have one and it has all sorts of plastic wedges used for carefully prying on things. Don't use a screwdriver to pry on tempered glass. The key is keeping the force spread out across a wide area.
I don't know if a slim jim works on vipers but it is worth a shot. I have never locked myself out of my viper but have with my other cars more than a few times. I have always been able to use a clothshanger to unlock the door. It is pretty easy to do.
Don't think a slim jim will work as the door is all electric so there is nothing to pull on to unlock the door. I don't think the dealer can do anything, not sure if dodge can make a new key with just the vin like other car companies, but I may try to see if they can. Thanks

It still may be worth a try with a clotheshanger. The locking mechanism still latches the same even though it is electronically activated. You might get lucky.
Makara - You may be right, if anything, maybe I can get the window down a little and then try to catch the handle. We got lucky with a Jag a couple months ago. I'll have at it tomorrow. Thanks for all the help guys!!
Open the hood, disconnect the positive battery cable at the drivers side by the power distribution center, leave it disconnected for about 30-60 seconds and than re-connect, this should reset the electronic entry module and unlock the doors. Than smack yourself in the head and take one fob out of the car and leave it in the house, DOH!!!!!!!

And hope no one finds out how easy it is to get into a viper!!!!!!!!!
TOOOFST forgets me leaving my keys in V10 MOJO's car, and getting his local Dodge dealership to make me a key...They actually made the spare out of a Durango key...

I locked the keys in the trunk when I first got my Viper. Same key also for ignition. Called a locksmith at 10pm and had visions of him cutting the lock out to get the trunk open and then I would have to replace the lock. He arrived in a van with a computer and just pulled out a couple of wires and put them in the trunk lock and made a key on the computer. I figured that at this time of night it would probably cost me a couple hundred dollars to get the trunk open and then I would have to buy a new trunk lock and install it. He said the computer system works on almost any type of lock including door locks. He charged me $90.00 and told me to turn it into my insurance company. I didn't think the insurance company would pay for my own stupidity but they did. Since I did this stupid thing I did find out another way to open the trunk without the key but not going to give out that information here for obvious reasons. If you want that information send me an e-mail.
Here is a question, what if the fob stops working while you are away somewhere? On my '96 GTS I opened the back glass with the key and the alarm went off. So how do I get in the car without setting the alarm off or how do I turn the alarm off once activated? (Remember the fob is not working)
