The guy made the long drive, but when it was time to stage, the car wouldn't start. Well, they let the DID NOT FINISH cars make runs after the competition was over. This guy goes out there (he'd been running 8.x's Fri ngiht) and blows a radiator hose around the 1/8 mile. He can't see near the end of the track and hits the brakes. Car pulls right and hits the wall head-on at 130+ ! Then it spins around and hits the other wall!
This car was a TT with an LS1 in it. damn shame. driver is fine. several caught this on video... expect to see it up here sometime tomorrow.
sad, sad day. We all _really_ wanted to see this car run...
Great Shots! Anyone else notice the intercooler size on Chad's car? That beasts intercooler looks a lot bigger and also the rocker panel stayed tighter to the frame. The shots of the car and the car itself look great! Now only if I could convince Chad or Heff to paint that car Blue N White!
The two BIG disappointments were that rambler (which ran out of gas at half track on its last pass) and the turbo mustang (the black one) which got a 9.15 average when it ran out of gas on its last pass.
thanks for posting the results! we were too tired to wait for them to _finally_ do the awards ceremony. we waited around over an hour for it and they were still "tallying".
Now if Jason hasn't done his 2nd pass leaving in 2nd gear... dang!
Looks like the prediction of a 7 second pass hasn't come true and the humble (cough cough) prediction of a PGD win didn't come true either. The car is no doubt fast -- but there are obviously street cars out there just as quick - and quicker.

There were a bunch of cars down in the 8's....
you have got to be kidding me right??....I have a very hard time believing that any of the other cars weigh nearly as much as Chad's car, or retain nearly the "luxeries" of Chad's car, not to mention there were NO cars as quick or quicker and Chad's car had a pretty good distance for best ET of the day it only took a mistake to keep the Viper from the top spot....remember that this car is running an IRS and a full interior, and accessories....i say congrats to Heffner for representing the Vipper community very well!....the Ultimate goal ofwinning the event may not have been reached but low ET and high MPH are nothing to look down upon....now go get that 7-second slip
