ONE LAP UPDATE - MAY 4 @ VIR
We are now in 2nd place running 55 pts behind the Porsche. We took a 2nd place in the first VIR session this morning. And we just got first place in the 2nd session at VIR.
All praise goes to our driver Brian Smith, who has hung close in this event with a car that was never tested prior to this race. He has had to deal with a PCM that was intermitently cutting the motor off during the first 5 road races - and it did it again at the drag strip yesterday. Thankfully he now has a stock PCM to replace the Mopar unit. Brian has basicly used the first half of this event to test and tune our suspension set-up. So now we feel like we have a car that is fairly well dialed in. Hopefully we can place well for the last 6 events.
Anyway, its going to be a very exciting finish. And in the end, I think we have both the driver and the car that can come from behind and win this thing. It should be an exciting finish.
