These tires are freaking great! Should have had them on my gen1. Two hard launches broke the clutch this morning. Time for lightened flywheel. Stock clutch lasted for 73k miles!
I used to pretend that the roads were covered in ice whenever I drove with the Michelin Pilot Sports. It wasn't unusual for me to break the rearend free even at 100 mph, when I would stomp on the accelerator. But now with the Kumhos, it's difficult to accidently break free. It has changed the way I drive-definitely the best appreciated bang for the buck.
You guys that don't have them don't know what your missing. You think you're having fun with your car NOW???? Wait until the Kumho's. Only then you can USE your cars real power.
I put them all the way around on mine last week after I flat spotted the two front tires, and man!!! It's like driving a different car that is faster and can maneuver like a road race car!!!
Although I'd LOVE to switch to 18's or bigger, I refuse to because Kumho's are so easily accessible for 17's. I've been running them for about 3 years.. 3 times the traction, I think less than 1/2 the price.... Best Mod yet that SAVES you money..
In the experience of those that use Kumhos do you tend to break other parts now?
Absolutley not. Just get some clear film and put some on the rear lip of the rear fender wells as well as some on parts of the side sills... oh yea... Keep it under 45 in the rain...
So I can assume there may be some paint damage from road debris thrown by the Kumho's? I have 3M on the rear, but none on the side sills...did not want to apply it there (concerned about heat issues)...should I?
